Path of Exile — Settlers of Kalguur — Ongoing Progress
It's been a few days since the new Path of Exile league launched, and naturally, as I'm wont to do, I've dived right in and am going strong in the progression game!
First of all, the above screenshot is the current state of my Atlas.
Yep, I've reached Mapping and am flying through them. I'm currently in the middle of yellow maps and as I get some better gear I should be in red maps by tomorrow or so.
Something I'm doing differently this time around though, is focusing on Jun and the Syndicate.
I normally don't really go for the Syndicate stuff and zoom up straight to Delve instead... but this time I want to get all the crafting that she has available. I've gotten most of them already, but, the one I'm really trying to find is the ability to trigger socketed spells whenever I use a skill.
That's going to really up my damage, and I'm hoping I'll be able to pair it with the new rune-crafting ability to trigger lightning bolts on critical strikes! 😄 I'm not sure the game will let me do that... but only one way to find out and that's by trying.
In the above screenshot I'm fighting the leader of the Syndicate, Catarina! This is actually the first time I've ever fought her because I usually ignore the Syndicate. I was expecting her to be a lot more difficult, but she was easy and then I got to ransack the vault afterwards and get all sorts of goodies. 😁
I've been doing a couple of Expeditions, too, as I come across them... and I'm going to have to spec into it in the Atlas tree. Which was not my plan.
But, see what Tujen has in his inventory? He has FIVE DIVINE ORBS. And... I can't just let those go. So now I need to do the Expeditions and hope I got a looottttttt of his 'exceptional' currency so I can buy them. Dannig is acceptable as well, since I can use his currency to buy Tujen's currency.
My Kingsmarch is currently going well, too! 😊
I've now got two ships doing deliveries, and one of my rewards for those was 7 chaos orbs which was really nice. I've built up a disenchanting/recombining area in my settlement... but not too sure I'll really use that. I don't really 'get' the recombining thing. I tried it out before, and the results were very lack-lustre... there's no way I'd want to put good gear in that and possibly lose them.
I've hired some high quality men to do some mining and shipping, and also fired some poor sods. I'll need to do that for my farmers soon, once I have more gold stacked in the treasury. Get more goods flowing so I can send off more shipments!
I'm hoping to find a divine orb or two in my ship rewards at some point. That'll be nice. xD
All in all, my progress in this league is about what I would expect at this point in time.
What I really need is to currency grind so I can deck this guy out a bit more. He needs an Inpulsa's chestpiece which usually go for a couple of Divine Orbs, and there's a Watcher's Eye I need that also gets a bit pricey. Not to mention one of those gems that turn nodes in the passive tree into other nodes... last time I ran this build, that particular one with the correct number on it went for a few divines as well.
Must get farming! XD
It's a bad time though because I really want to dive into 7 Days to Die now it's finally out of early access, and also Enshrouded... but... one fixation at a time.
Until next time! 😄🎮⚔️
That skill tree is insane, how easy is it to get enough XP/points to get to the next node in that tree? Looks Grindy (like you can waste a lifetime in this one).
And that's just for one aspect of the game! XD The character's skill tree is even more complex.
For both skill trees there is a point limit, so you need to carefully choose what you want and where you should put those points. For the Atlas, you get a point for each new map you finish, and for the character you get a point each time you level up and for some campaign quests.
I think there's just over 100 points for each.
But yes! It's a very grindy game! But that's half the fun. 😁
Damn, I have seen some big skill trees but this one had a lot of options and you telling me the Character's has a lot more? 🫠
Some of these grindy games are too addictive. You can never have enough power. XD
XD
^
This is my character's skill tree... I can't zoom out any further! That's just the top half! Haha! 😅😅😅
MOAR POWAH!
DAYUM!
You should try to write your initials (or name) on this tree, enough space to do that... xD

Upvoted 👌 (Mana: 40/60) Liquid rewards.
It looks great. I will probably try this game at some point. I'm struck by the whole doing everything by bartering thing.
