Today is a new day and I feel very happy to be able to do one of the things I like the most in this life which is to talk about movies, I think that since I have been delivering them it is one of my favorite things, although before this I had never written a review or any opinion about a movie, I did spend time talking about them with my friends and recommending them here and there, and of course also listening to the recommendations of others.
Speaking of that and I want to tell you about a movie that was recommended to me by a very dear friend of mine, she recommended it to me precisely because it reminded me of a dark time in my life in which she was very present, and watching it reminded me of many of the things we went through in those moments. Emotionally speaking, movies can reach deep inside us when we identify with them, with their characters or with the plot. I think it is mainly their purpose that we feel that what we are watching is not only entertaining, but that they tell stories that could easily be our own.
As I trust the tastes of that friend, I knew it would be a good movie and I took time out of my busy schedule to be able to do one of my favorite activities, when I saw this movie I was very impressed, it is a story that is full of too strong emotions, and that of course makes us identify with it, I at least identified with the part of not knowing how to deal with the pain of a loss, and looking for any little thing to relieve that pain, turning this thing into something indispensable in our life even when it hurts us.
Hoy es un nuevo día y me siento demasiado feliz de poder hacer una de las cosas que más me gusta en esta vida que es es hablar acerca de películas, creo que desde que entregas hay es una de mis cosas favoritas, aunque antes de esto nunca había escrito un review ni ninguna opinión acerca de una película, sí que me la pasaba hablando de ellas con mis amigos y recomendándolas aquí y allá, y por supuesto también escuchando las recomendaciones de otros.
Hablando de eso y quiero hablarle de una película que me recomendó una amiga muy querida para mí, me la recomendó precisamente porque recordó una etapa oscura de mi vida en la que ella estuvo muy presente, y que al verla recordó muchas de las cosas por las que pasamos en esos momentos. Emocionalmente hablando las películas pueden llegarnos muy adentro cuando nos identificamos con ellas, con sus personajes o con la trama. Creo que es principalmente su propósito que nosotros sintamos que lo que estamos viendo no solamente es entretenido, sino que tiene mucho más y es que cuentan historias que fácilmente podrían ser las nuestras.
Como confío en los gustos de esa amiga, yo sabía que sería una buena película y saqué tiempo de mi ocupada agenda para poder hacer una de mis actividades favoritas, cuando vi esta película quedé muy impresionado, es una historia que está repleta de emociones demasiado fuertes, y que por supuesto que hace que nos identifiquemos con ella, yo por lo menos me identifiqué con la parte de no saber lidiar con el dolor de una pérdida, y buscar cualquier pequeña cosa para aliviar aquel dolor, convirtiendo esta cosa en algo indispensable en nuestra vida incluso cuando nos hace daño.

But let's leave this aside for a moment and let's talk about the movie, it is "the whale" a very recent movie and it is also an important movie, because it showed the glorious return of Brenda Fraser, who due to difficult circumstances in her life had to leave the movies for a while. When I say "glorious" is because I think she couldn't have done a better job to come back, you can tell that she did her best effort and that there really was a lot of preparation behind this movie, because the only thing that can be said about it is that it is incredibly good.
This movie is about Charlie, a middle aged man who is very stuck in his life, tired of the negative emotions that tear his life apart, he feels lost and also full of too much pain that he doesn't know how to deal with, our main character is a teacher and conducts online classes for different types of people, in which he mainly talks about literature inciting his students to share an acceptable opinion about what they read, but behind that screen in which apparently there is a totally normal man, there is something else.
Charlie has gone through some very difficult things in the last few months, these situations have led him to develop unhealthy habits that are leading him more and more to totally lose control, coupled with the deep pain of having lost a loved one, he finds himself in the guilt of not having been there for his only daughter. Motivated by his deep desire to do something good in life, he tries with all his might to get closer to his daughter, thinking that by doing so he will be able to alleviate what he carries inside.
Pero dejemos esto de lado por un momento y hablemos sobre la película, se trata de "la ballena" una película muy reciente y que también es una película importante, ya que mostró el glorioso regreso de Brenda Fraser, quién debido a circunstancias difíciles de su vida tuvo que abandonar el cine por un tiempo. Cuando digo "glorioso" es porque pienso que no pudo haber hecho un mejor trabajo para regresar, se nota que hizo su mayor esfuerzo y que realmente hubo mucha preparación detrás de esta película, porque lo único que se puede decir de ella es que es increíblemente buena.
Esta película trata acerca de Charlie, un hombre de mediana edad que se encuentra muy estancado en su vida, cansado de las emociones negativas que desgarran su vida, se siente perdido y también lleno de un dolor demasiado grande con el que no sabe lidiar, nuestro protagonista es profesor y dirige clases en línea para diferentes tipos de personas, en las que principalmente habla acerca de literatura incitando a sus estudiantes a compartir una opinión aceptable acerca de lo que leen, pero detrás de aquella pantalla en la que aparentemente hay un hombre totalmente normal, se encuentra algo más.
Charlie ha pasado por cosas muy difíciles en los últimos meses, estas situaciones lo han llevado a desarrollar hábitos poco saludables que lo están llevando más y más a perder totalmente el control, aunado aquel profundo dolor de haber perdido a un ser querido, se encuentra en el sentimiento de culpa de no haber estado para su única hija. Motivado por su profundo deseo de hacer algo bueno en la vida, intenta con todas sus fuerzas acercarse a su hija, pensando que al hacerlo logrará aliviar aquello que lleva por dentro.

During this whole process he realizes how hard it is to gain the trust of someone you hurt so much, while at the same time realizing how much damage you caused just because you made a decision. The movie basically deals with this about how our main character Charlie deals with all the problems he goes through, while also showing us how the people around him have been greatly affected by what he is currently doing and what he did in the past as well, leaving us with a pretty good point to think about.
This movie is visually very well done, you can see the details with which this movie was made, I saw out there a short video in which they said that it took about 6 hours making up Fraser to be able to play his character, I do not know how true this is what I do know is that in the movie you see many details that make it look quite realistic, plus the performance of this great actor who undoubtedly ate it, the movie is practically in the protagonist's house, but definitely there was no need for more than what was given to us.
There have already been several reviews in the community about this movie, but I did not want to miss the opportunity to talk about it now that I have it fresh in my mind, this great movie I recommend it with my eyes closed, aware that the story of its protagonist will also impact you and will invite you to think about issues that are relevant, in case you have already seen it I would like to know what you thought about it, and if you have not done so then do not wait any longer and go see it.
Durante todo este proceso se da cuenta de lo difícil que es ganarse la confianza de alguien a quien heriste tanto, a la vez de que te das cuenta todo el daño que causaste solo por haber tomado una decisión. La película trata básicamente sobre esto sobre la manera en la que nuestro protagonista Charlie Lidia con todos los problemas por los que pasa, mientras también nos muestra como las personas que están a su alrededor se han visto muy afectadas por lo que él hace actualmente y lo que hizo en el pasado también, dejándonos un punto bastante bueno para pensar.
Esta película es visualmente muy bien hecha, puede verse los detalles con con los que se hizo esta película, vi por ahí un video corto en el que decían que tardaban unas 6 horas maquillando a Fraser para poder interpretar a su personaje, no sé cuán cierto sea esto lo que sí sé es que en la película se ven muchos detalles que la hacen ver bastante realista, además de la actuación de este gran actor que sin lugar a dudas se la comió, la película es prácticamente en la casa del protagonista, pero definitivamente no hubo necesidad de más de lo que se nos dió.
Ya han hecho varias reseñas en la comunidad sobre esta película, pero no quise perder la oportunidad de hablar de ella ahorita que la tengo fresca en mi mente, esta gran película se la recomiendo con los ojos cerrados, conscientes de que también les impactará la historia de su protagonista y los invitará a pensar en asuntos que son relevantes, en caso de haberla visto ya, me gustaría saber qué te pareció a ti, y si no lo has hecho entonces no esperes más tiempo y ve a verla.
Esta peli es muy compacta, además posee un argumento muy bien configurado, creo que lo más poderoso de ella es la forma que posee y hace que sea atractiva. Un punto muy atractivo dentro de la trama es la manera como se dilucidan los hechos y la vida de Charlie. Como sostienes, ver la forma en la que se desarrolla la vida de este profesor causa intriga. La vi hace unas semanas y realmente me gustó la manera en como se desarrolló. ¿Una de las partes más sorprendentes es: ¿doy asco?
También me sorprendió mucho esa parte, es como que te transmite exactamente lo que está sintiendo y no puedes hacer más que sentir el corazón roto. A mi me gustó mucho porque son varios temas fuertes que trata al mismo tiempo y todos ellos importantes y dolorosos, es una película muy cargada de emociones y al ser seres emocionales la sentimos.
El performance de Fraser es brutal, aparte, la dupla con Sadie Sink es de otro nivel, esa muchacha tiene mucho potencial y estoy ansioso por verla en más proyectos en el futuro.
Es una película simple y efectiva, su mensaje no es nada sutil pero yo siento que se transmite bien, el final es devastador (para bien y para mal).
Si, mi hija estaba detrás de mi diciéndome que era de su serie favorita Stranger Things, mientras yo la veía con el corazón roto por la profundidad de la trama. Me gustó mucho el final, aunque triste, fue poético.
