Overcoming future uncertainty.
I would definitely be telling lies if I said I don’t have fears about my future. These fears come and go, and sometimes they feel overwhelming. Right now, I’m studying agriculture in school, and while I’m passionate about it, I can’t help but feel scared about what the future holds for me in this field.
Agriculture is a vital industry, but the reality of pursuing it in my country adds layers of uncertainty. The major fear I have is whether I’ll truly be able to make use of my certificate after spending five years in school studying and working hard. It would be devastating to invest all this time, energy, and resources into my education, only to find myself unable to secure a decent job or create a sustainable career in agriculture. This fear constantly lingers in my mind, especially because of the current situation in my country, where job opportunities are limited. If you don’t establish yourself or find creative ways to succeed, it’s easy to feel lost.
It’s not just the lack of job opportunities; it’s also the societal expectations and the pressure to succeed. Agriculture isn’t always seen as a glamorous career path, and sometimes I question whether I’m doing enough to prove to myself and others that this is a field worth dedicating my life to.
But I’m not letting these fears paralyze me. Instead, I’m using them as motivation to keep moving forward. One way I’m working to overcome my fears is by focusing on my studies and passing my exams, one at a time. It’s easy to get overwhelmed thinking about the long-term, so I remind myself to take things step by step. By breaking it down into smaller, manageable goals, I feel more in control of my journey.
I’ve also been putting a lot of effort into improving my practical skills. Agriculture isn’t just about what you learn in books but rather about been able to apply that knowledge in real-life situations. Whether it’s working with crops, raising animals, or understanding market demands, these hands-on experiences are what will truly matter in the future. Every chance I get, I try to learn something new or improve on what I already know because I believe practical knowledge is what will set me apart when the time comes.
Aside from studying and gaining practical experience, I’ve realized the importance of mindset. I’ve been working on staying positive and believing in myself and my dreams. I constantly remind myself that the future isn’t something that just happens—it’s something we create through our actions today. If I focus on making the most of the present, I know I’ll be in a better position to shape the future I want.
So, yes, I have doubts and fears about my future, but I’m not letting them hold me back. Instead, I’m using them as fuel to work harder, learn more, and grow every day. It’s not easy, but I’m determined to make my dreams a reality, no matter what challenges come my way.
