I joined Hive in May of this year, and my initial goal was straightforward: to make some money so I could feed myself. At the time, I was looking for ways to earn a bit of extra cash to sustain myself, and Hive seemed like a promising platform. Since then, I’ve been able to withdraw some funds from my wallet, which has been helpful. However, as I spent more time on the platform, my perspective began to change. I started to set new goals after seeing how different users had accumulated large amounts of Hive Power (HP) and Hive Dollars (HBD) in their wallets. This inspired me to think beyond just making a little money here and there and to aim for something bigger.

One of the major goals I set for myself was to accumulate a significant amount of Hive Power. Having a high HP means that my vote will carry more weight on other people’s posts, allowing me to support others on the blockchain more meaningfully. To achieve this, I decided to make sure I post consistently, aiming for daily posts. This regular engagement was key to staying active and building my reputation on the platform. In addition to posting frequently, I also started to power up many of my posts to 100%, which allows me to increase my Hive Power instead of converting my rewards to HBD. At times, I even transferred my HBD to Hive and powered them up as well. This strategy has helped me grow my HP considerably, and after just five months, I’m proud to say that I’ve accumulated over 900 HP. I know I still have a long way to go, but then I feel this is a solid foundation and a good start.

However, the journey hasn’t been without its challenges. There have been moments when I felt my posts deserved more recognition, and it was disheartening not to get the engagement I was hoping for. It’s easy to feel a bit discouraged when you put effort into something, and it doesn’t seem to resonate with others as much as you think it should. At times, this feeling pulled me back a little, and I questioned whether I was on the right path.

But I had to remind myself of the reason I came here in the first place. My purpose was clear from the start, and I knew I had to keep pushing forward, giving my best effort regardless of the ups and downs. Success doesn’t come overnight, and I realized that if I want to reach the goals I’ve set for myself, I need to stay consistent, stay visible, and continue working on my craft. The more I contribute, the more people will get to know me, and in time, I believe I’ll reach the level I’m striving for.

Another challenge I’ve faced is making friends on the platform. Building relationships hasn’t come easy for me, and I think this reflects a struggle I’ve had in real life as well. I’m not always sure how to communicate effectively with people or how to start and maintain conversations, both online and offline. This has made connecting with others a bit of a challenge. But I recognize this is something I need to work on. Communication is key, not just for making friends but for building a supportive community, and I’m committed to improving this skill over time.

Even though, my journey on Hive has had its ups and downs, I feel like I’m on the right path. I’ve grown, both in terms of Hive Power and as a person, and I’m determined to continue putting in the work to achieve my goals.
