With the feature of having ongoing rewards, creators may devote more time and effort to creating high-quality content. This could cause to a richer and more diverse range of posts which could help enhance the overall quality of Hive's offerings.

User retention is another thing that could be improved by having lifetime rewards and providing a more stable income stream for content creators. This might encourage them to remain active on Hive for a longer time, promoting a sense of community and loyalty among users.

Having a reward structure that is more appealing could attract new users, particularly those looking for a sustainable income from their content creation efforts.

This might also change how curation is approached as curators would have a vested interest in supporting quality content over time rather than solely focusing on immediate upvotes.

Negative Implications

If lifetime awards are not properly administered, they may make already-existing disparities on the platform worse. The reward distribution might get dominated by users having a higher Hive power leaving with less visibility and compensation for newer or small users.

While some content may get profits from ongoing rewards others might not get attention over time which could lead to a stagnation in new ideas or trends as older content continues to garner rewards without being challenged by new content.

Having a lifetime rewards system could give rise to manipulation tactics, such as trading of votes or self-voting, which may undermine the integrity of the reward system and discourage genuine participation.

Implementing a lifetime reward system would require a robust structure to ensure fair distribution among content creators and content curators. This complication could cause confusion or dissatisfaction if users feel that the system lacks fairness or transparency.
