Shayna Baszler's Remarkable Comeback
When Shayna Baszler emerged victorious at a Macon WWE live event to put an end to her 792-day losing streak, I was literally over the moon. As someone who’s a huge fan of hers, I’ve been waiting for this day since forever and seeing her win was very fulfilling.
Baszler came up against Maxxine Dupri in the opening round of the Queen of the Ring tourney. Initially, she had been scheduled to fight Zelina Vega but with Vega injured, Dupri replaced her. In spite of the change in opposition, Baszler remained focused and controlled the bout en route to a well deserved victory which propelled her into the next stage.
What’s even more mind-blowing is that this win was the first singles victory in a house show for Baszler in over two years. It has been a while since she had a clean singles win at any house show, which happened in March 2022 against Aliyah. However, she did beat Ronda Rousey on their way to their match at SummerSlam, but they were by DQ.
Looking towards it, Baszler will take on IYO SKY in the next round of Queen of the Ring tournament. That makes this event become more interesting as far as their connection is concerned. These two have met several times before they ever signed with WWE. Baszler has not enjoyed such good form lately though IYO’s winning streak continues unabated. Nevertheless, this outcome brings me hope because it may turn out to be a huge one for her.
However, IYO still remains a top star despite recently losing the WWE Women’s Championship to Bayley. On the other hand, Baszler’s most recent important triumph was over Ronda Rousey during SummerSlam in 2023. Therefore, Baszler may use her forthcoming match against IYO SKY to reestablish herself and remind everyone of her dominance in WWE.
Ultimately, seeing Shayna Baszler end her losing streak was not only a moment of glory for her but also for her fans too. Her next performance during the nest round of Queen of the Ring tournament will be good; hence, I cannot wait to see what happens next.
