The @KidSisters Cleaned Their Room 🧹 & Monkey-B Begins Hivin' Solo πŸ‘©β€πŸ’»

cleaning.png

Yesterday I inspected my daughters' room only to find that it would need to be cleaned, possibly their biggest pet peeve.

Gosh Dad!πŸ™πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

Β  Β  Β Before I even left their room, they knew their fate was sealed. I did the ole' "pull a few items away from the wall and inspect dirtiness" trick, revealing the effects of a few months of lazy sweeping and mopping. I let them them know this was the day for a real cleaning effort, and the usual grunts and moans ensued.

Β  Β  Β But as it always goes, 10 minutes of anger towards me eventually morphed into a bit of pride for the cleanliness state of their room. It now looks much better than before, but how long it lasts is anyone's guess.

Helmets & A Basket πŸͺ–

gtrew.png

Β  Β  Β We finally got some helmets for the @kidsisters, and even though my wife hasn't pursued learning how to ride her bike yet, I got a helmet for myself, so I've been getting the girls from school lately. The bike's ergonomics are way too small for me, but I can handle a 30-40 minute drive without too much of a backache.

Not What I Thought πŸ‹

Β  Β  Β There is a fruit in Cambodia known as "plae p'nyiev," and it looks very similar to the above fruit, which is what I thought the above fruit is, but it's not. This fruit is purely sweet, no sour, but "plae p'nyiev" is sweet and sour. I rarely come across new fruits in Cambodia, but this little gem is called "tuhlungtun" if I remember correctly.

Β  Β  Β Monkey-B recently chose to set up shop next to me on my desk, and she's been working on her first solo Hive post for about three weeks now. It's slow going, but stay tuned for a post from Monkey-B very soon, of course via @kidsisters, and with parental supervision.

Has the rain finally slowed down a little?

She's already forgotten what the post is about several times, but it's slowly coming together. Today there is no rain, first day in a long time, but 500 meters above us is a thick layer of clouds dumping rain in the mountains above. The river is still at high water, but at least it's not so violent now.

(Edited)

It was a very good activity, checking our children's rooms while making sure they were clean. Educating children must be from ourselves, who set an example for them, that being neat and clean is very beautiful to look at, especially if they are girls.

In our country, it looks like duku fruit, it tastes very sweet and has small seeds in it. But there is also a fruit that is almost exactly like that, but tastes sour and slightly chelating.

Yes, I can't wait for your little daughter's post Monkey-B πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

It's even better when the kids occasionally take pride in such a task πŸ˜ƒ.It might be the same fruit, Cambodians usually eat the seeds unless they are large, and the large seeds are bitter.

My wife said we can eat the seeds, but I didn't believe all the seeds were delicious, so I bit into the biggest seed I could find, very bitter. There are 5 or 6 fruits here all similar to a garlic clove on the inside, and this is one of the most delicious.

Good effort in cleaning up the sisters room. The fruit you mentioned looks like the one we have here called Langsat

I always love discovering a new fruit, I used to think these things were a variety of Burmese grapes, but apparently they are not because the Khmer name was unfamiliar to me.

It appears that your fruit has many names. I've never seen anything like it in Australia. I look forward to seeing Monkey B's post with much anticipation.

I think the far north of your country has a lot of different fruit, but some things just don't get popular over time. I am always surprised when I visit the US state of Florida, that nobody has a jackfruit tree in their yard. I guess it's just too big of a fruit, and the because of the latex sticky stuff, cutting into one tends to ruin a knife, and those are the only reasons I can imagine people don't have one around the house.

Looking forward to Monkey-B's solo post. I hope the rains had stopped in your area.

I am trying to keep her motivated, can't wait to publish it for her when she's ready to pull the trigger. Every day I anxiously await the sun, apparently it's confused and thinks this is Ireland, not Cambodia.

Monkey-B, your followers are really looking forward to your post! I'll be checking in on @kidsisters regularly now. As for cleaning one's own space, it is always a privilege much more than a chore, even though this usually only becomes clear once the cleaning is done.

Perhaps Monkey-B is just building hype by delaying her post, not sure, but she seems to have a clear vision. The room is already a mess again, so we'll see how today goes after they get home from school.

Okay... building up the expectation (both you and her)! Now I really can't wait to see it.

Even if the motivation for room cleaning only lasts a day, I gladly accept it.

Oh man, cleaning bedrooms must be a universal dislike. I don't like doing it either!

I've been so busy lately I must have missed out on the big motorbike purchase. Awesome!

I was one of those rare psycho kids that was almost OCD with my room cleaning and care of my toys. Luckily it wasn't a compulsion bordering on illness, but it has served me well in life, especially when living in really small spaces like prison cell-sized room and travel trailers.

The new moto is awesome, 90cc of fury, although the ergonomics are for a 5-foot tall person, so I hope my wife learns to ride it soon or I'll be selling it for a different style of bike.

You have done the right thing, since childhood it is very important to teach children to be disciplined, I salute you, your child also listens to your very good commands.
