Srey-Yuu is quickly becoming a formidable sushi chef in addition to becoming the owner of her very own motorcycle in the next few weeks.
π― Trash Burning Season Is Here π₯
Β Β Β The rainy season is long gone and everything has turned brown. In most parts of Cambodia it is dust season, but here in the Cardamom Mountains of Steung Kach it is wildfire season. There's actual nothing wild about it because there's hardly any lightning here, but plenty of pyromaniacs, trash fires, and highway cigarette butt flickers. Our next door neighbor likes to throw all trash out the back door during the rainy season and then set fire to the heap each dry season. You can just barely see our neighbor in his undies inhaling copious amounts of dioxin, good job bro!
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ§ My Little Family
Β Β Β Rarely do both of my daughters ever give me a cuddle without some kind of bribe, but on this day my wife snatched my phone for a pic while I was watching something on my phone with the girls, probably a WATOP nature video or something like that. Not longer after a little lazy cuddle time with the girls, Srey-Yuu was off to the kitchen to prepare sushi for the family all by herself.
π₯ Sensei Hamhock π
Β Β Β She's already perfected her sushi rice cooking technique or at least as close as we can get with ordinary Cambodian short grain rice. We don't eat sushi often enough to justify buying imported Japanese sushi rice, and to be honest I'm not that big of a fan of sushi. As vegans, things like fried tofu, fresh cucumber, avocado, and other things are all fair game to be rolled by Sensei Hamhock. She has big legs and she's Asian, and since we all have a pretty good sense of humor, she's embraced the title of Sensei Hamhock.
π€ Lazy ChairWoman Meow πββ¬
Β Β Β If anyone at all lays down for a quick nap during the day, Ms. Meow is always ready to join. She does a lot of killing at night because we are catfood-less house, so I give her a break when it comes to sleeping all day. She usually returns home around 5am with her face smelling like the inside of a gecko, but I can't fault her for being a godless killing machine.
Β Β Β Meow has actually developed a daytime sleeping routine, switching between 4 locations throughout the day according to mood and temperature. When we randomly threw a thick blanket on top of one of the support beams in the cabin interior, we didn't realize it would be Meow's favorite napping place. Ever since she claimed this blanket on the rafter, we haven't moved it since. She seems to feel extra safe up there because it's difficult to get to and very high. That's all for now folks, haven't had much time to post because life has been hectic.

Well, I must say vegan sushi is much easier than fish sushi because we don't the knife mastery required for cutting fish so thin. I think if we did make fish sushi, Meow would never let us touch because she would run away with it, haha. Thanks for stopping by my friend.

Ohooo, does Srey-Yuu know how to drive? Chef slash Cool driver, what more can she do (δΊΊ β’Να΄β’Ν). Love that happy family pictures of yours, it'll be awesome chairwoman cat was also in there, but well she her own appearance with you so it's awesome (β^o^) β. She also loves to sleep no haha.
Srey-Yuu knows the basics of moto riding, but I would like to spend a few weeks teaching her defensive driving because Cambodian drivers are mostly unlicensed and uneducated on how to drive motorbikes and cars. In addition to this there is no form of traffic police, so basically the highways here are wild west and deadly. Ms.Meow always gives me cuddles in the morning to warm herself up, but unfortunately her face usually smells like gecko meat after a night of hunting π€£
Ohhh, it's scary to drive in there ha, especially anyone can just do whatever in the road and no one will even stop them. Learning a lot of thing in driving and even about the road will surely be helpful to her. So good luck, I hope she learn it fast.
Defensive driving skills are so important. I always ask her to wear a helmet and close-toed shoes when she rides. I know she thinks this is silly sometimes, but the roads are dangerous and a little safety gear can prevent serious lifelong injuries.

I'm in a bit of the same situation, but as Hive is my full-time job, I gotta post a little bit here and there. I don't like posting though when I have little time to engage, just feels wrong. I joke around with Srey-Yuu a lot, but she really does have strong legs, and she probably would be a good footballer or perhaps badminton champion.
It turns out that Srey-Yuu's sister also likes cooking, looking at the food she is making, it looks like it tastes really good. Seeing your warmth with your family makes me happy too

You mentioned an area in Cambodia where the rainy season is over and the dust season is underway. I think that garbage should not be burned because it emits a lot of carbon-dioxide gas, so it would be better to bury it in the ground. Yes, I agree, but for Cambodians it is hard to break a habit. Most people don't believe me when I say that burning plastic is toxic and creates dioxin gas. Luckily we have a lazy cat that keeps us entertained and distracted from the trash fires π€£.
