π₯ Samosas & Chai β & Other Goofy Things From The Day π€ͺ
The weather has been cold the last few days, so we've been drinking plenty of masala chai and also eating lots of hot spicy food.
Samosas First π₯
Β Β Β One of my favorite snacks is samosas, and lately I've been making them with a stuffing mix of cabbage, onion, and poha, and paired with tomato chutney. They are so delicious that even Monkey-B, who demanded soup for lunch, still gladly devoured them despite initially being upset over the soup-less situation.
The Property Eyesore ποΈ
Β Β Β Post-samosa and pre-chai I found myself on the bed after apparently falling asleep during an intended short day nap. Upon awaking, I couldn't find my family in the house, so I ventured outside and found two of three members "up top" as we call it. I am very used to looking at this hodgepodge shack, but when I see it in photos I realize that this thing is an eyesore that looks like something out of horror movie. I look forward to the day it can be replaced with a proper building or bungalow.
Underwear Repair πͺ‘
Β Β Β I realized I needed to fully wake up, and also it was a very cold day today here, at least for tropical Cambodia anyhow. For this problem the solution was a pot of hot masala chai, so I began picking fresh mint and boiling all the spices to whip up a batch. While I did this my wife repaired my boxers on the mini sewing machine. All of my boxers have the butt section wear out before anywhere else, and I know it has nothing do with farts, so don't even mention it if that's what you're thinking π€£.
Masala Chai To Defeat The Cold β
Β Β Β After finishing the pot of chai, I made myself a cup, remembering to pull the by holding the ladle high in the air while pouring the chai into the mug. Precise aim is required or you'll just be pouring scolding chai on your fingers that are only a few centimeters from the bullseye. I wasn't doing this for style, it's called "pulling tea tea," and it created that nice head of foam you see in my mug. In my case Monkey-B came by and simply slurped the foam off top of my mug, all that work for nothing, the foam is the best part yo'.
The Teenage Death Stare π
Β Β Β For dinner the wife took over and made a quick meal of "mii soo-ah," which is basically Cambodian style stir-fried bean thread noodles. I rarely can successfully capture images of Srey-Yuu actually looking at the camera, but in this case I held steady and waited for her to look up and see I had abandoned my mission. In the one second she showed me her eyes, I got lucky and managed the above shot.
Β Β Β I do not want to end this post with a death stare from my teenage daughter, so I'll show you the delicious treat on the end of my chopsticks. That's all I got for today folks, it's past my bedtime as usual, so I should try and get what little sleep is left to be had.

This dino has to forage for food, after reading this mouth watering content...
Hahaha!
The missus just finished patching the butt section on a few pairs of boxers, good as new and ready for more chai and samosa farts π€£.
Does chai make you fart too? ;<)
I'm not a fan of slapstick comedy, but farts is an exception to that rule, always looking for any excuse to justify it.
You can justify ( farts ) as much as you want,
your name isn't Justin without a reason ;<)
That shack indeed a super cool horror movie set! Don't tear it down, just reinforce it from the inside make sure it's safe π
The boxer wear out at the butt hole area due to friction with the outer pants I guess. Try a G string π€£
That pull tea is what we Malaysian so proud of.
The only viable future use I can imagine for the highway shack is an escape room. With hooks on walls and more chains, it would be a complete Jigsaw movie set. I feel like I need to up my tea pulling skills now, for me it's back and forth twice and done, but perhaps my poor technique is because my boxers have been making too much friction. Next time I will pull my chai in my new bikini bottom to see how it changes the process π.
Your place there is somewhat like here in our place. There's sugarcane and the atmosphere except for the cold weather. I'm sure it's relaxing there. You have strong family ties as I've observed. I love reading your blog then. You are blessed and continue to be a blessing to everyone. God bless.
You noticed our sad solo sugarcane plant, it grows but not well here, pretty cold at night and earth is almost 100% clay here. Give thanks for the kind words, yes, the four of us are as much best friends as we are family.
That sugarcane reminds me of my grandmother's sugarcane in her house also it is only 3 stalks I think.
Wow! You don't need aircon at night. What do you mean by clay?
Yeah, absolutely what a wonderful kind of family you have. Worth emulating. God bless.
The dirt here is mostly clay, so when it's dry it's hard like a rock, and when wet it is very slippery. There is a lot of good stuff for plants in it, but it needs some organic matter and sand to make it better for gardening or farming. πππ
Ah, I see. It's dangerous when it's raining there. Does the rain come often there?
Here in the Philippines, there is a spot here where clay is beneficial for everybody. When the one applies it to his/her body, it will get younger and for their skin complexion to be finer and brighter.
The rain is seasonal, but in most parts of the country the majority of the rain falls in 4-5 months. Here in the mountains it seems the rainy season is about 8 months long.
You're right about the clay, it is actually so pure here that it might be good for cosmetics or pottery.
Oh, yes! The teenage death stare. If looks could kill. :)
Hi, Justin! How cold is cold in Cambodia?
This teenager has lasers for eyes, haha. Funny you mention the temps here. I don't know our altitude, but I know we are high enough to have a different climate than the rest of the country. There are no weather stations or any proper measurements taken near us, but the other night I remembered I have a digital luggage scale with a temp reading. At 9pm it was 64 fahrenheit, that's chilly for Cambodia. At 3am it's much colder than, possibly high 50s, but that seems impossible to me in tropical Cambodia.
Samosa and Chai is Indians favorite :-)
With better planning I would've have enjoyed them together, it's quite a nice combo.
