🛺 Daily Life In Steung Kach, Cambodia 🤷♂️ & I Think I've Been Adopted 🐱
It's been a typical day, driving the tuk-tuk to pick up 400kg of cement sacks for our latest project, and also taking Monkey-B back from school.
This Kitty Won't Leave 😻
This morning when the kids opened the door and left for school, I immediately heard meowing inside the house. Still reluctant to accept this kitty as our new pet, Srey-Yuu and I put it outside last night while we were closing up the house. Within minutes the kitty was jumping and smashing ahead against our closed windows like a psychopath, making vain attempts to get back in.
In the morning I felt really bad for banishing kitty outside the previous night, and when kitty wandered into my room, jumped onto my bed and fell asleep next to me, I felt obliged to let it stay there despite not really liking animals on the bed.
After kitty's nap on my bed, I started my day with a shower, then found kitty waiting for me by my computer, so I had my morning coffee with this little furball. She slept on my lap for another three hours while I did Hive work, and when I tried to tell her this is a vegan house, she didn't seem to understand. I showed her a piece of bread and she took a bite, then another, then another, so I guess kitty might be willing to eat vegan when not hunting.
She loves me so much she even brought me a dead mouse this afternoon, one that I think I've been seeing in our house the last few weeks. This particular mouse was scared of traps and very smart, but not smart enough to avoid the wrath of kitty.
A Hard Day At School 💤
When I picked Monkey-B up from school today, she was a little more tired than normal. She didn't last long, and I found her in the fetal position in the back of the tuk-tuk, out cold.
Monkey-B is growing up so fast, but for a few more years she'll still be my little girl. In a matter of days her big sister and fellow Hiver @srey-yuu will turn 14, something I am still having a hard time accepting.
With one wife, one sleeping daughter, and 8 50kg sacks of cement mix, we slowly climbed back up the mountain to Steung Kach, our little mountain home. And that's all I have to report for now folks.......

What I have meet, seems the same. Cat always fell asleep. Well, enjoy your day and have a wonderful traveling.
I wish I could sleep like a cat, they know how to relax better than anyone.
Greetings to you and your family @justinparke. What a persistent cat. Certainly knows how to choose a prospective home.
So far she seems to be happy with bread and leftover food, gonna see if she'll eat tofu next. Around here there is plenty of prey to catch, so if she wants a fresh kill she can easily hunt something down.
I understand. Tofu is a healthy treat !ALIVE

Did you take along with you the cat sir? Your daughter grow up sir.
She is our neighbor's cat, but now she sleeps here and begs us to feed her instead of going home. I sense she wasn't looked after well, and because her first visit her was so positive, she claimed us as her humans. Yes, our daughters are growing up too fast, hard to believe.
I think she knows you have better food for her if compare her home 😅. And now she's PR there 😁. Yeah sir they grow up so fast compare to last year i seen.
OMG, that poor tuktuk! What a load that made! 😮
You must have a decent engine in that thing!
I am surprised how well it does with all the punishment I've given it. I've already driven it 20,000Km in one year, that's about as much as I drive in the USA, but here I'm mostly going 35-40mph and doing it with 8 HP. That's all the tuk-tuk is, a 400cc diesel engine, basically a lawnmower, but it can haul nearly as much as a Ford Ranger, shame we can't have nice things like this in the USA. Oh yeah, the 85mpg isn't bad either.
My father had a "lawn & garden tractor" which is a step above a lawnmower, as it can pull a trailer loaded with wood & other such things. So, I had to look it up to compare the "cc" rating of the engine to wrap my head around the numbers. The lawn & garden tractor he had is no longer in production, but best I can tell from websites that have specs on it say it had a "18HP Briggs & Stratton 693cc 2-cyl gasoline engine," so that gives me a little more insight into your tuk-tuk. It's still quite the little "hoss" despite its size! So glad you have something like that, and the MPG is killer! 🙂
If I put that engine in our tuk-tuk it would feel like we had turbo boosters. could probably break the 50 mph barrier 😉.
