Dragon Egg
Once upon a time, in the land of Eldoria, settled a solitary explorer named Lila.
Coincidentally, she found a secret cave. She cautiously entered, her steps echoing in the dimly lit space, intrigued by its mysterious aura. She noticed something glimmering in a corner—a softly glowing egg—as her eyes adjusted to the darkness.
She had never seen anything like the egg before—a dragon egg. They were mentioned in the legends, but only a few had seen such a rare sight. She reached out and carefully fondled the priceless object, feeling its warmth on her palm. She did so with a mixture of awe and fear.
Lila made the decision to dedicate herself to raising a dragon hatchling because she was aware of its immense potential and power. In her hut, she constructed a modest nest to provide a secure and nurturing environment for the tiny creature inside. She diligently attended to its requirements throughout the day and night, providing it with the finest herbs and much needed warmth.
The bond between Lila and the dragon grew stronger as the weeks went by. Ellen, the cute hatchling, began to respond to her touch and followed her around the hut like a devoted pet. However, Ellen's desire for freedom grew with it.
Lila was aware that she would not be able to confine Ellen forever. The vastness of the outside world, where it belonged, was what Ellen wanted. She vowed to support and guard the dragon from afar and made the difficult decision to release Ellen with a heavy heart.
Ellen's most memorable flight was a striking sight. It spread its majestic wings, illuminating the sky with a dazzling aura. Lila was in awe of Ellen's newfound freedom as it soars higher and higher.
Throughout the land, word of Ellen's presence spread over the course of several months. The people of Eldoria, who had been afraid of the mythical creatures in the past, came to realize that Ellen had a gentle spirit and a desire to protect rather than harm. Individuals started to see the mythical with freshly discovered regard, and Coal turned into an image of trust and solidarity.
Eldoria, on the other hand, became dark despite the newfound peace. Malachai, a wicked sorcerer, wanted to use the power of the dragons for his own evil purposes. With a thirst for dominance in his eyes, he set out to capture Ellen.
Lila heard about Malachai's intentions and knew she had to act quickly. With enduring zeal and determination, she left on a dangerous journey, mobilizing partners from all sides of Eldoria. Her bravery inspired the people to join the course and form an army to defend their new protector.
Lila and her companions squared off against Malachai's forces as the day of reckoning approached. Coal, presently completely developed and emanating with an endearing light, drove the charge from a higher place. The battle was intense, but Eldoria's united people and the dragon's combined strength proved formidable.
In a climactic confrontation, Lila stood up to Malachai straightforwardly, her determination steadfast. She unleashed a final surge of energy, banishing the sorcerer and permanently cutting him off from the dragons.
Eldoria, forever grateful to Lila and the majestic dragon Ellen, celebrated its newfound peace. In addition to saving the dragons, Lila's selfless deed had united the land against a common enemy. Humans and dragons coexisted harmoniously ever since, and their futures were forever linked.

It's a relief that Ellen learnt the art of goodness from infancy which assured the people of Eldoria a safety and protection.
Glad the sorcerer was banished
Yeah thanks for stopping by
Just like movies🙌.
With the way people talk about Dragons, I'm sure there's somewhere they're coexisting with humans
It could be possible fam
Some nice fantasy writing here, Justice! Are there two dragons... Ellen and Ember? Or am I just a little confused. Maybe I need to read this again hehe. I think your story would benefit from some dialogue (something I have learned myself to add now!) and show don't tell to draw the reader into the story more so that they don't sit so much on the periphery as an observer, and to bring out more of the emotion and connection. This was nevertheless a good read.
I found your story in Dreemport this evening #dreemerforlife
