Equality; Mere Ink On Paper

Hello everyone. I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the weather wherever you are. Welcome to my blog.

Equality is a very complex concept. It is indeed a complex concept because sometimes it neglects its definition and proves to be mere ink on paper. Equality means fairness. Fairness to everyone regardless of status, age, sex, property, and so on. Equality is entrenched in the rule of law in almost all countries in the world, well, except in countries ruled by a dictator. The rule of law states that everyone is equal before the law and should be treated equally, regardless of their status. This means; the president of a country and a citizen of the same country are equal and should be given the same treatment. As human beings, do we believe in equality or is it just words printed with ink on white paper?

Do you believe everyone is created equal? Do you think everyone is destined to be great and should enjoy their rights without any partial treatment?

In my opinion, everyone is not created equal. I know it sounds unfair and not right. But that is just the truth. Sometimes we cannot do anything about it, and sometimes we can change things with our actions. Growing up, I remember how my elementary school teacher and even high school teachers insult some students because they fail to perform like the brilliant ones. They say things like “Do they have two heads?”. I am not a math person. Well, I used to like math, but everything changed when math got complicated. I was one of the class toppers, but when it comes to mathematics, I was average. I remember how our teachers used to tell us to “be like that brilliant girl that could solve an equation within seconds”. Of course, I wanted to be like her. Sometimes, I wonder how she did it. She was always getting more than 90% in mathematics, while others struggled to get 50%. I tried my best to beat her, but it wasn't possible. I finally concluded that some people have “extra heads”. I know some of you would say that if I had pushed further I would've at least gotten to her pace. Yes, I agree with that. But the truth is, she was created differently. She solved equations equally, while others struggled.

That is just in the educational system. Inequality can be found in almost all aspects of life. Let's use the political system as an example. As I mentioned earlier, the rule of law states that everyone has the same opportunity before the law. The irony in this? There are countries in the world where politics is limited to a particular gender. There are some countries where women are not allowed to vote, talk less of even contesting for a political post. Do we also call this equality?

Here in my country, there are some barbaric cultures that limit certain rights to a particular gender. Nowadays, it is as if women are not allowed to speak. Even after so many activists have stressed equality, some countries/people just don't want to listen.

Generally, in life, people are not created equal. Why do you think some people make it big while others remain in slums begging for food? Is it that they work harder? I tell you, some people in the struggling part; bricklayers, traders, carpenters, etc, work harder than the little percent of people that can get anything they want.

DO YOU THINK ANYTHING CAN BE DONE TO MAKE THE PEOPLE MORE EQUAL?

Equality Is just mere words written on blank paper. It'd be hard to make people more equal. However, it is not impossible. If everyone (especially the government) lives by the rules of the rule of law, then maybe people can be more equal.

Thanks for reading.

Hmmmmm wow this is another dimension i never thought of, it is indeed a fact that nobody is created equal there will always be comparison in this life and even with the governments following the rule of law, nothing can really be set right but be wealthy and be different and see how you match up to everyone...

Thanks for this post..
