This microfiction story is for the prompt "go to sleep". It reminds me of situations where one may want to rest, but the timing or place is inappropriate. A ZAPFIC50 story is told in exactly 50 words. The challenge was created by @felt.buzz. I decided to continue to prepare content for it whenever the opportunity arises.

Here is my story.
The first night on his new security job was crucial. However, Marcus desperately needed rest working two shifts to supplement his salary.
All was quiet in the monitoring center. Completing his paperwork, Marcus slumped over, ready to go to sleep.
His eye caught flashing silent alarms for the company's client.

This is an EXCELLENT use of the prompt in a Zapfic setting ... it covers the reality of the difficulty of many guards' lives along with the necessity of them resisting temptation...
Appreciate your kind words and your support of my micro story. Yes, it's difficult in certain professions where your attention is key in retaining your employment. But the fact is that many in this industry do work other jobs, but utilize security work to supplement income. Often, we've seen in other security officer's settings outside of an office, it can be dangerous also as they fall victims to criminals with no respect for others' lives.
