Flickering Of Hope | ZAPFIC MONDAY Week 29 | (5/9/22) - Prompt: candle
I'm back participating again in the ZAPFIC 240-character challenge. This week's #29 prompt, candle, brought back instances of various associations with the flickering of candles in my childhood. We all have memories of reading by candlelight. Some instances were for pure fun. Others were due to necessity.
@felt.buzz changed up the challenge a bit to create a new format: ZAPFIC Monday. The rules and link to the challenge post are below if you'd like to participate.
As previously done, I leave here my wordcounter screenshot showing the exact word count for my Zapfic Monday story:
Below is my story.
It would be dark soon. Drew wrote quickly in his binder, then smiled at his mom.
"Finished!"
His hope pierced deep. "Great, but it's the last candle. We have to move."
"Not there!" he yelled.
He'd heard about the stigma of being homeless.
