Creamy Sikwate of Estrella!
In Bohol, there is news of new malls coming into the island. This is definitely good news because we believe that the Boholanos deserve good choices of services and mall experience. Today, the Alturas group of companies is leading the business with at least five branches on the whole island, Tagbilaran City has four of them and I only know one more in Tubigon. There might be other branches of the said mall in Bohol but those are the only ones that I am aware of.
Today, I'd like to share with you a bakery slash cafe within one of the branches of Alturas and that's in Alta Citta. This mall sits right across Bohol Quality and is a newer building establishment. It even has a BPO company there.
I guess it can only be counted with my fingers the many times I had been inside Alta Citta so far. But because I found out Estrella Bakery is also in Alta Citta, I requested that we try to have snacks there when my mother and I went to Tagbilaran City for some important matters.
My mother is always a "yes" person when it comes to eating and trying out new places, especially when with me, she is already aware that I blog about new places and experiences and she is very supportive.
Estrella Bakery is located on the 1st floor of the said mall. Compared to Island City Mall, a sister company of Alta Citta, this mall is quite smaller and only has fewer customers and visitors. It is evident by the few times that I had been here.
From the outside, we could see how simple the cafe looks like. They have a few tables and because it has all glass walls, we could see through if there were a lot of customers inside.
There were only few customers inside so we went in. We seated on the first table next to the counter. I headed to the counter and checked the menu board. They only have a short list of menu, they offer hot coffee from illy coffee beans, Calamansi or the local Philippine lime and Sikwate, the local hot chocolate.
They got their cakes displayed here too. And on the other opposite side is a display of their bread and pastries which already looked like almost running out.
The cafe looks clean and neat with a minimalistic vibe. I liked their hanging lights though with its huge bright yellow ribbons! I asked for two hot creamy sikwate which was worth Php 65. I think their drinks are very affordable including the coffee considering that they use illy beans.
One time, I asked my brother to buy me roasted coffee beans and he bought from Estrella, a 250 grams of illy classico medium roast was worth Php 750+.
I checked and got a pack of bread as well to pair with our hot creamy chocolate. I also ordered a piece of their Boston cream pie.
While I was paying for my orders, my little one got a little comfortable with the place, he even was spotted lying down! Having a toddler is challenging because at this age, they want to be their own boss! Each single time that I would tell him not to do this and that, he'd test my patience and would do the opposite.
My mother on the other hand has been extra patient with him and would play with Matti whenever I get a little impatient of him. They kind of get along too.
It didn't take long before they served our hot sikwate. I would say it was really good! I guess it was the best sikwate I had ever tasted. It is better than what we had at the Malagos Garden Resort in Davao where the Malagos Chocolate is made!
Their bread was also fine, the Boston cream pie didn't disappoint too but I guess it would be better paired with tea.
Overall, I had a good experience here. I will try to come back and order their illy coffee latte soon. I will also try more of their breads in the future.
Thanks for reading!

Nice cafe! Illy is always a good go to coffee provider and the available munchies look so good! I hope you guys get more malls soon and toddlers like Matti are always exploring their limits. I can tell he will go very far in life, taking obstacles like a champ. I can imagine how you feel but I can see that he is well loved! Thanks a lot for sharing!

I never made it to Bohol, but I only ever heard great things about it, and a good coffee shop would be a fantastic upgrade for the island.
Everything looks amazing, even if I've never tried them before.
