As I entered the house, I was immediately transported back in time. The house's living quarters were decorated with family portraits and mementos, which gave the place a personal touch. Evidently, this house was once home to a family, and it was interesting to see how they lived in the past. The wooden floors creaked under my feet as I explored the different rooms in the house, and the smell of old wood filled the air.
The furniture in the house was made of hardwood, and it was evident that the artisans who made them were skilled in their craft. The intricate carvings on the furniture. A testament to the ingenuity and artistry of the people who lived in the past. The beds were adorned with canopies, and the bedposts were carved with intricate details. The chairs and tables were made of hardwood and designed to be functional and aesthetically pleasing.
One of the most exciting parts of the house was the kitchen. The kitchen was made entirely out of wood, and it had a traditional stove made of clay. That highlighted the ingenuity of the people who lived in the past. The kitchen also had a large wooden table where the family would gather for meals. It was interesting to see how the family would prepare and share their meals.
The small chapel in the house was a peaceful place of worship, and the stained glass windows filtered the sunlight, creating a serene atmosphere. Evidently, this chapel was an essential part of the family's life. It made me think about the importance of having a space for reflection and prayer. The chapel was decorated with religious icons, a testament to the family's faith.

I could picture Don Juan Yap and Doña Maria Florido entertaining grand sala guests or their children playing in the courtyard.
Learning about the family's history and its role in the community was also fascinating. The first and last time I visited this ancestral house was during our educational tour in college. That was like what, 12/13 years? Happy to see that it's still well preserved for future generations to see.
Yeah, it's good to see cultural and heritage sites that are well preserved despite the modernity built sorrounding it. !PIZZA
