The Mixed Adventure - My Visit To Atwea Mountain

This was my first time of visiting such a higher altitude mountain. It is the most highest mountain in the Ashanti Region. Despite being mountain of mixed rocks and soil, it has a very thick forest of tall trees with all kinds of quality trees.The place of this mountain top which would be about 1 mile from the ground level to the top has been purposely designed for adventure and tourist site. It also serves as serene place for prayers by Christian bodies who wish see the glory of God and avail themselves for the Holy Spirit to touch them.So this mountain top has been regarded as sacred according to History.

This forest might contain a lot of wild animals, so I frightened. Since it was first time, I went with a friend who had ever visited there before. From the level of the ground to the top of that range are several miles. What supported us was the stairs constructed on the walking path to the top of the mountain. These are just steps of concretes made on the ways to support easy walking. Without these steps, one may skip or slip off the path and fall and that would be another dangerous thing too.

Our journey begins from here. The step leading to the to of the mountain. The more we climb to the altitude the difficult it becomes.

The stairs, having made with concretes becomes easier for climbing that the bear ground which could cause one to slip and fall.

It takes about 45mins walk to get to the top of the mountain. One need to walk carefully to avoid twisting the ankle. As we were walking, my thigh and all my legs were shaking. I felt very nervous and tired. I was panting and thirsty. What helped us most was the resting place constructed on the side of the path. When were tired and sweating, we found this place useful and sat to relax.

Provision of resting place for those who climb or descend is good way to cool our pressure and found the body relaxed here. We sat here for some couple of few minutes and proceeded to the top of the mountain.

We met several people who were also coming from the top of the mountain having experienced the good and serene environment at the mountain. The walking becomes very easy for those who have visited here for more than ones. The more that we climb, the more that we become very tired and weak finally we got the top of the mountain. It took us not less than an hour to get to the top of the mountain.

Things are very costly at the top of the mountain, so we saw many people who were carrying luggages climbing to the mountain. It's also a great business for some inhabitants of Atwea, a small community around this mountain site. They help to send items like food, provisions and water to the top.

I was really tired, sweating and panting like a dog dog chasing its prey. I stood behind some cave of rocks stacked, though I was frightened but I managed.

When we were almost to the top of the mountain, we came and met some cave which they have been used to build rooms for those those who come here and sleep. It surprised me how people are able to have sound sleep without thinking of maybe the mountain could fall on them, hahaha😂😂. This is indeed a mystery for me and still cogitate about it any time I cast this picture about how the place looks like.

That was really a long journey. But the most important thing was that we reached here without any in as much as we wanted to achieve our aim. Our aims of course was to enjoy the natural beauty things nature has provided and to share with others Globally. Who knows, maybe here could be one of the best tourist attraction site people would love to visit. Most of the things we saw here were superb of which everyone needs to visit this mountain site. The place is such a cool place devoid of noise.

There are some Forest Guides who have been here for long. They know the history of the forest, especially how they discovered this place. One unique thing about this high mountain is that, here has been a sacred place for prayers by various Christian bodies. This is due to the fact that here has be cool away from the noisy environment.

Actually, many people find it very difficult to pray at very noisy places. So they find it comfortable coming here to fast and pray without any disturbance.

When we finally go to the top of the mountain, we saw some simple room build with some of the rocks over here with concrete. One obvious thing is that, the structures they raise here are very short to withstand the pressure of storm that could hit the buildings. I found a lot of gallons packed in front of the building showing the scarcity of the water over here. Even though there are water falls at some places but I think they do dry up during the dry season, or there is a probability of limit in their flow when the weather is very hot.

The environment sounds very cooled,cleaned with fresh air and serene looking at the atmosphere over here. The trees found here gives that kind of cool breeze, though it's still mountain top. I wonder why we still have tall trees like the bear soil. It would surprise you to know that not all part are natural rocks; but we also have vast places which are natural soil for growing crops. When you get the top of the mountain, it's flat land but not steep as we see it from far distance.

You may also see some altar designs by various religious bodies here. This design represents Angels. It looks very nice to me.

When getting to the edge of the mountain, it looks very steep down miles. The trees were views far away from the top of the mountain. The scarp is too deep and looks like a drone picture. I frightened more when I heard the stories of those few people who has dead during the cause of praying when they became unconscious.
