HOW I MADE ADOBONG SITAW | THE FIRST DISH I LEARNED
This is a Filipino dish, a very common food to make, usually a breakfast meal, It's called "adobong sitaw" in Tagalog but in my main language, we call it "batong" which means green beans.
Back in college, I was taught by my board mate how to make this while we were in the kitchen, Let's say it's the first dish I've ever cooked in my life other than frying, so I'm thankful she unlocked the cooking side of me ever since then.
Ingredients:
- Green Beans
- Onion & Garlic
- Pork in Cube shape
- Oyster sauce
- Tuyo
- Venigar
- Salt & pepper
Step.1
Put the pork first, and wait for it to extract its own oil which will be used to saute the garlic and onion. It saves you from using your bought oil.Step 2.
Once the pork is golden brown, put it aside on a plate and put the onion and garlic to the pan and stir it until it's cooked,Step 3
Add the green beans and stir. Since I'm the only one whos eating I only had a few green beans to put, but if you prefer having a lot of green beans by all means, add more~Step 4
I added the pork after, putting in salt and pepper, mixing it well with the green beans, to add flavor.Step 5
I wanted to add more flavor to it and have a little sauce to make it more delicious, so I added oyster sauce, 1 tsp of soy sauce, 1 tsp vinegar, and a half cup of water to balance the flavor so it wouldn't be salty.
Step 6
Stir it well then cover it so that it will simmer, and try tasting it if it's not too salty add water if ever but some other people add a little sugar for more taste and to balance it, either way, both process will be a delicious result.Once you are already satisfied with the taste, put it on a plate and do your plating if you want to take a picture of your meal and upload it on IG or just add it directly to your plate with rice. I was actually going for a half-cooked green beans instead of a well-cooked one because I love fresh chewy beans, but since I was taking pictures for this blog, It resulted to a well-cooked green beans, hahaha but still it was delicious! I remember eating more than 2 cups of rice with it, self-praise with the cooking~ coz why not! 😆
