[ENG-SPN] Mudejar architecture: the triumph of brick / Arquitectura mudéjar: el triunfo del ladrillo
Within the immeasurable variety that makes up the rich and varied historical, artistic and cultural heritage of a country like Spain, relatively small but paradoxically large in antiquity and by default, protagonist of so many stories that would really leave the wonderful tales in a simple prologue. of the Thousand and One Nights, imagined by the fertile creativity of the marvelous Scheherazade, there is an architectural style, parallel to the Romanesque and shared, especially, by extensive areas of Aragon and Castile, which, due to its elegance, its beauty and consistency, calls powerfully the attention.
This is the Mudejar style: that which, inherited from Muslim builders and based mainly on the noble art of brickwork, not only gradually replaced the long-suffering medieval quarries, which required superhuman effort and their cost tended to be disproportionate, but, in addition, it was imposed as a style, which, apart from developing a more sustainable sacred geometry and far from the profusion of sculpture that characterized the Romanesque, was also used as a basis for the urbanization of quite a few towns and cities, such as Madrid, the latter city, which still has a rich heritage in Mudejar civil architecture. Therefore, it is not strange that, when traveling through the Castilla plateau, many of the towns near the capital stand out for the superb and austere elegance of this architectural form, which, unfortunately, has never been given the true historical-cultural importance that it really has.

Happy Sunday, my friend
I wonder why olden buildings are always big
The building looks good with a nice story to back it up
It is part of a very diverse cultural heritage, which also enriches our own history.
