[ENG-SPN] Merry Christmas, Madrid / Feliz Navidad, Madrid

Last Saturday, the Madrid City Council officially declared the state of Christmas, with an extraordinary visual spectacle, which was displayed, with all the luxury of special effects, on the imposing facades of the neo-Gothic building of the old Telecommunications Palace -a building, by the way, designed by the great Madrid architect, Antonio Palacios- carrying, precisely, the title: Merry Christmas, Madrid.

Although in Madrid we have already been experiencing the Christmas atmosphere well in advance, the presentation on Saturday was, without a doubt, an act that could be said to be magical, electrifying and capable of turning the Center of Madrid into such a chaotic anthill that going through a simple subway, without bumping into anyone, could have been considered of sufficient interest to be nominated for the Guinness Book of World Records.

And it is that Christmas in Madrid is something very special, above all, taking into account that, in a few years now, the capital of Spain has become a joyous multicultural bastion, where everyone meets and is welcome and where it seems that life and by default, its inevitable bustle, seems to sprout, like an uncontrollable torrent, even from under its stones.

El pasado sábado, el Ayuntamiento de Madrid declaró oficialmente el estado navideño, con un extraordinario espectáculo visual, que se desplegó, con todo lujo de efectos especiales, sobre las imponentes fachadas del edificio neogótico del antiguo Palacio de Telecomunicaciones -edificio, por cierto, diseñado por el gran arquitecto madrileño, Antonio Palacios- llevando, precisamente, por título: Feliz Navidad, Madrid.

Aunque en Madrid ya llevamos viviendo el ambiente navideño con bastante antelación, la presentación del sábado, sin duda, fue un acto, podría decirse, que mágico, electrizante y capaz de convertir el Centro de Madrid en un hormiguero tan caótico, que recorrer un simple metro, sin tropezar con nadie, podría haber sido considerado de interés suficiente como para ser nominado al Libro Guinness de los Records.

Y es que, la Navidad en Madrid es algo muy especial, sobre todo, teniendo en cuenta, que, de unos años a esta parte, la capital de España se convierte en un alegre bastión multicultural, donde todo el mundo se da cita y es bienvenido y donde parece que la vida y por defecto, su inevitable bullicio, parece brotar, como un incontenible torrente, hasta de debajo de sus piedras.
