The last will

Under the scorching sun, the beggar lay motionless on the sidewalk. His faithful four-legged companion barked tirelessly, trying to catch the attention of passersby who ignored the scene. Until he finally ran away in search of help.

His insistent barking in front of the police station caught the attention of the officers, who decided to follow him. He led them to the inert body of his master in the lonely street. They quickly called an ambulance.

On the way to the hospital, the paramedics noticed that the man was still breathing slightly. With a trickle of his voice, he uttered a few last words before exhaling his last breath:

“Take care of my dog...give him the best love...those little four-legged guys...they are better than many people...”

A shudder ran through everyone present. What dark secret did that wanderer hold? Why was his only concern his pet? Did he have no family or friends to look after?

The questions multiplied, but the mystery would remain eternally sealed. The only certainty was that his love for that stray dog surpassed any other earthly bond. They decided to fulfill his last wish to the letter, moved by such an unusual display of attachment.
