[Retro review] [Eng | Esp] The Prince of Egypt
Welcome my dear Egyptian internet travelers and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, I like to watch all kinds of animated films, especially if it is one from one of my favorite animators such as Dreamworks, the film “The Prince of Egypt” caught my attention because it is based on somewhat strong biblical stories at times. Without further ado, prepare to free the Hebrews because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros egipcios del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, me gusta ver todo tipo de filmes animados, sobre todo si se trata de uno procedente de una de mis animadoras favoritas como lo es Dreamworks, la cinta “The Prince of Egypt” me llamo poderosamente la atención debido a que se encuentra basada en relatos bíblicos algo fuertes en algunos momentos. Sin más que agregar prepárense para liberar a los hebreos pues estamos por comenzar.
The Prince of Egypt was released in 1998, directed by Brenda Chapman, Steve Hickner and Simon Wells, produced by DreamWorks Animation, and has a duration of 1 hour and 38 minutes. It is an animated dramatic film, the story focuses on Moses, who was left in a basket in the river by his mother to prevent him from being killed by Pharaoh's soldiers, by chance he ends up in the hands of Pharaoh's wife. He is raised as royalty until one day he is notified of his heavenly mission to liberate God's people.
The Prince of Egypt fue estrenada en 1998, dirigida por Brenda Chapman, Steve Hickner y Simon Wells, producida por DreamWorks Animation, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 38 minutos. Es un filme dramático animado, la historia se enfoca en Moisés, el cual fue dejado en una canasta en el río por su madre para evitar que este fuese asesinado por los soldados del faraón, por azares del destino termina en las manos de la esposa de este, es criado como de la realeza hasta que un día se le notifique su misión celestial de liberar al pueblo de Dios.

The animation is quite simple but despite this it looks good, it has various scenes that look very detailed and it is thanks to this that it can have a greater impact, in general terms, it looks quite good taking into account the time it has.
La animación es bastante simple pero pese a ello tiene un buen aspecto, cuenta con diversas escenas que lucen muy detalladas y es gracias a esto que esta puede impactar de mayor manera, en líneas generales, luce bastante bien tomando en cuenta el tiempo que tiene.
The soundtrack is good, it is supposed to be an important point of the film since the film contains several musical numbers, the problem with the latter is that in some of them it is difficult to understand what they are saying so the scene loses importance, apart from This is a section that is decent.
La banda sonora está bien, se supone que es un punto importante del filme puesto que la cinta alberga varios números musicales, el problema con estos últimos es que en algunas es difícil entender lo que están diciendo por lo que la escena pierde importancia, fuera de ello es un apartado que es decente.
The construction of the world is a success, throughout the film this section is used to illustrate cruel and merciless treatment as established in the Bible, at the same time, good use is made of the scenery on more than one occasion to give an interesting context to different situations, broadly speaking it is a section that is pleasant to work with.
La construcción del mundo es un acierto, a lo largo del filme se utiliza este apartado para ilustrar un trato cruel y despiadado según lo establecido en la biblia, a su vez, se hace un buen uso de la escenografía en más de una ocasión para darle un contexto interesante a diferentes situaciones, a grandes rasgos es un apartado que se trabaja de forma agradable.
The plot is captivating, throughout the film the premise is developed in a very good way to the point that an intrigue is generated in the viewer to see what the resolution of all the conflicts will be, in the face of the biblical representations I must admitting that they are very good because it manages to convey the different feelings of both the slaves and the enslavers, from helplessness to cruelty, that gives it an interesting character. Narratively there is not much, it is a simple story that does not have much narrative complexity, it simply seeks to stick to what it is based on. The duration is fine, throughout the film different stages are crossed that keep the viewer's interest captive.
La trama es atrapante, a lo largo del filme se va desarrollando la premisa de muy buena forma a tal punto de que se genera una intriga en el espectador por ver cuál será la resolución de todos los conflictos, de cara a las representaciones bíblicas he de admitir que están muy bien debido a que logra transmitir los diferentes sentimientos tanto de los esclavos como de los esclavizadores, desde la impotencia hasta la crueldad, eso le da un carácter interesante. Narrativamente no hay mucho, es una historia sin más que no tiene mucha complejidad narrativa, sencillamente busca apegarse a lo que se encuentra basado. La duración está bien, a lo largo del filme se atraviesan diferentes etapas que mantiene cautivo el interés del espectador.
The most notable thing about the characters is not their personality but their feelings, throughout the film you can empathize with the suffering of various characters and the unfair situation that they had to suffer, it is curious that they achieve that feeling of pity for their characters without developing them. in no way, on the other hand, the relationship between Pharaoh and Moses is worked on in a good way, it is an attractive element of this section.
Lo más destacable de los personajes no es su personalidad sino su sentir, a lo largo del filme puedes empatizar con el sufrir de diversos personajes y por la injusta situación que les tocó sufrir, es curioso que logre ese sentimiento de lastima por sus personajes sin desarrollarlos de ninguna forma, por otro lado, la relación entre el faraón y Moisés es trabajada de buena manera, resulta un elemento atractivo de este apartado.
The Prince of Egypt is an interesting biblical film because of the raw way in which it represents the writings of the holy book, which is what makes it interesting, apart from that there is not much because it only seeks to be as reliable as possible. It is for all of the above that it deserves 3.5 stars out of 7, regardless of whether you believe in the Bible or I would not recommend it because it is interesting the way it can make you empathize with its characters.
The Prince of Egypt es un filme bíblico interesante por la forma cruda en la que representa los escritos del santo libro, siendo eso mismo lo que la hace interesante, fuera de ello no hay mucho debido a que solo busca ser lo más fidedigna posible. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 3.5 estrellas de 7, indiferentemente si crees en la biblia o no la recomendaría debido a que es interesante la forma en que te puede hacer empatizar por sus personajes.

This film is a gem! I saw it when I was a kid, and then I saw it again as an adult and wow, I didn't remember it being so good! I wish many people remembered it more, I remember watching this one, and then the one about the trip to "El Dorado". It was a good afternoon...
I consider this film to be quite good and somewhat underrated, unfortunately, it happened to it like "Treasure Planet." Regarding "El Dorado" it is on my list to see, I hope to be able to bring it soon.

Es una buena película, pero cuando veo ese título, recuerdo siempre la mítica cinta con Yul Brynner y Charlton Heston, de los diez mandamientos.
