[Anime review] [Eng | Esp] Baki the Grappler | Men need to fight like men
Welcome dear fighters internet travelers lovers of combat and thank you very much for making a temporary stop in my post, I have always liked the things that invite you to think but also sometimes I like to see simple things that are from the go pure unbridled action, the other day I was looking for what to see and I found that they had continued an anime that I had seen long ago called Baki so I decided see its first 2 seasons again called "Baki the Grappler" in order to understand well the events it presents. Without more to add, be enlisted since the opponent is ready and the fight is about to begin.
Bienvenidos queridos peleadores viajeros del internet amantes del combate y muchas gracias por hacer una parada temporal en mi post, siempre me han gustado las cosas que te invitan a pensar pero también a veces me gusta ver cosas simples que sean desde el vamos pura acción desenfrenada, el otro día andaba buscando que ver y me topé con que habían continuado un anime que había visto hace mucho llamado Baki por lo que decidí ver sus primeras 2 temporadas nuevamente llamadas “Baki the Grappler” para así poder entender bien los acontecimientos que presenta. Sin más que agregar alístense puesto que el oponente está listo y la pelea está por comenzar.
Baki the Grappler was released in 2001, based on the manga of the same name created by Keisuke Itagaki, the first season was directed by Hitoshi Nanba and the second was directed by Katsuyoshi Yatabe, both seasons were produced by Group TAC, have a total of 48 episodes. It is a story of action and fights, the story revolves around Baki a boy who carries out a rigorous training to become a great fighter, all these exercises are paid for by his obsessive mother; however at some point Baki feels that this training is no longer enough and if he wants to overcome his father he must look for strong enemies to not only train but also gain experience thanks to combat.
Baki the Grappler fue estrenado en 2001, basado en el manga del mismo nombre creado por Keisuke Itagaki, la primera temporada fue dirigida por Hitoshi Nanba y la segunda fue dirigida por Katsuyoshi Yatabe, ambas temporadas fueron producidas por Group TAC, cuentan con un total de 48 capítulos. Es una historia de acción y peleas, la historia gira entorno a Baki un chico que lleva a cabo un riguroso entrenamiento para convertirse en un gran peleador, todos estos ejercicios son costeados por su obsesiva madre; sin embargo llegado un punto Baki siente que este entrenamiento ya no es suficiente y si este quiere superar a su padre deberá buscar enemigos fuertes para no solo entrenar sino también ganar experiencia gracias a los combates.
The second season presents us with a Baki who has traveled the world facing all that martial artist who considered an interesting challenge, on his journey he stumbles upon a legendary land where different fighters with different fighting styles are put to the test for the simple glory of combat, wishing simply to test his strength and his techniques in the most primitive way possible with the sole intention of demonstrating how Lethal can become their fists and kicks.
La segunda temporada nos presenta a un Baki que ha viajado por el mundo enfrentándose a todo aquel artista marcial que considerase un desafío interesante, en su travesía se topa con una tierra legendaria en donde diferentes peleadores con diversos estilos de pelea se ponen a prueba por la simple gloria del combate, deseando simplemente probar su fuerza y sus técnicas de la forma más primitiva posible con la única intención de demostrar que tan letales pueden llegar a ser sus puños y patadas.

Rock has always seemed to me a perfect accompaniment to everything that refers to the action and here is no exception, the combats feel extremely epic since the soundtrack is at the height of all the different excellent moments it presents.
El rock siempre me ha parecido un acompañamiento perfecto para todo lo que se refiera a la acción y aquí no es la excepción, los combates se sienten sumamente épicos puesto que la banda sonora ser encuentra a la altura de todos los diferentes momentos excelentes que presenta.
The animation is not the best since we are talking about something that already has its years on top so we can not expect to see a spectacular animation, however, it manages to give the size for the different intense moments, as well as the fact of presenting fighters with exaggeratedly muscular bodies to make them look even more masculine and imposing.
La animación no es la mejor ya que estamos hablando de algo que ya tiene sus años encima por lo que no podemos esperar ver una animación espectacular, sin embargo, logra dar la talla para los diferentes momentos intensos, como también el hecho de presentar peleadores con cuerpos exageradamente musculosos para hacerlos ver aún más masculinos e imponentes.
The construction of the world is very different between one season and another, in the first it seeks to present different contexts: Sites of professional fights, jungles, war sites, neighborhoods, among others, in order to capture the varied conflicts that may arise in these places; it is noticeable that it seeks to develop a story moderately as a result of the different places where the facts take place. After these varied scenarios a clandestine arena is proposed where the most experienced fighters decide to test themselves, this site is lacking in the previous creativity but that is not a problem since this sacrifice of the setting is made with the intention of focusing on the combats.
La construcción de mundo es muy diferente entre una temporada y otra, en la primera busca presentar diversos contextos: Sitios de peleas profesionales, selvas, sitios de guerra, barrios, entre otros, para así plasmar los variados conflictos que puedan presentarse en estos sitios; se nota que se busca desarrollar medianamente una historia a raíz de los diferentes lugares en donde se desarrollan los hechos. Después de estos escenarios variados se plantea una arena clandestina en donde los peleadores más experimentados deciden ponerse a prueba, este sitio es carente de la creatividad anterior pero eso no es un problema puesto que este sacrificio de la ambientación se realiza con la intención de centrarse en los combates.
In both seasons the style is superimposed over the substance, there is no complex concept that is put on the table and that advances the plot, everything focuses on the combat, although it may sound simple and basic the fact is that it never feels bland to always be focusing different styles of fight making each fight have its own essence, strategy and techniques that make it unique. Something that if I could criticize more of its second season than of the first is the fact that in some moments they incorporate too many dialogues in the middle of the combats, making the epicness of the moment is lost, fortunately this does not happen all the time.x
En ambas temporadas se sobrepone el estilo por sobre la sustancia, no existe un concepto complejo que se ponga sobre la mesa y que haga avanzar la trama, todo se centra en el combate, pese a que pueda sonar simple y básico el hecho es que nunca se siente soso al siempre estar enfocando diferentes estilos de pelea haciendo que cada combate tenga su propia esencia, estrategia y técnicas que lo hagan único. Algo que si podría criticar más de su segunda temporada que de la primera es el hecho de que en algunos momentos incorporen demasiados diálogos en mitad de los combates, haciendo que se pierda la epicidad del momento, afortunadamente esto no sucede todo el tiempo.
The characters are characterized by being very muscular men who want to break the face of their opponent making use of all the techniques and skills they have at their disposal, does not seek to give them depth or characterization because he wants to expose them to exciting combats where the one who is best prepared both in techniques and experience is the one who wins. Outside of it there is not much to highlight, it would be quite dissonant if I put that these had a goal beyond the fights and it would be strange for the fact that the plot does not have a premise that allows that kind of thing, in this section less turns out to be more.
Los personajes se caracterizan por ser hombres muy musculosos que quieren partirle la cara a su oponente haciendo uso de todas las técnicas y habilidades que tengan a su disposición, no busca darles ni profundidad ni caracterización debido a que quiere exponerlos a combates excitantes en donde aquel que este mejor preparado tanto en técnicas como experiencia sea el que salga vencedor. Fuera de ello no hay mucho que destacar, sería bastante disonante si pusiese que estos tuviesen un objetivo más allá de las peleas y sería extraño por el hecho de que la trama no tiene una premisa que permita ese tipo de cosas, en este apartado menos resulta ser más.
Baki the Grappler is an anime that fulfills what it promises, it only seeks to present men having bloody duels with the simple objective of seeing who is the strongest, it manages to keep that concept fresh and that no moment the combats feel bland. That is why it deserves a rating of 3.5 stars out of 7, an anime highly recommended for those who just want to enjoy the entertainment of watching constant confrontations loaded with action and blood in droves.
Baki the Grappler es un anime que cumple lo que promete, solo busca presentar a hombres teniendo duelos sangrientos con el simple objetivo de ver quién es el más fuerte, logra que ese concepto se mantenga fresco y que ningún momento los combates se sientan sosos. Es por ello que merece una calificación de 3.5 estrellas de 7, un anime altamente recomendado para aquellos que solo quieran disfrutar del entretenimiento de ver enfrentamientos constantes cargados de acción y sangre a por montones.

Baki was an instand classic on the anime, at least in the fighting genre, since yuyu hakusho or any other of the big shonen fighting mangas, this one was one of the best, and it was not a spin off or inspired from fist of the north star or any other like that one, so for me Baki is a rewatch material, thank you for bringing it to the community :D
