LESSONS I LEARNT FROM THE ANT

Proverbs 6:6 - Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and be wise!

Proverbs 6:7 - Even though they have no prince, governor, or ruler to make them work,

Proverbs 6:8 - they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter.

Proverbs 6:9 - But you, lazybones, how long will you sleep? When will you wake up? I want you to learn this lesson.

Proverbs 6:10 - A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest.

Proverbs 6:11 - and poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.

I wonder why God told us to learn from the ants. Like, practically speaking, they are the tiniest creatures on earth, and yet God wants to learn from them. That's quite amazing. Let's see some important Lessons we can learn from the ants👇

1. PURPOSE: Looking at the ants, they have quite a sense of purpose, i.e. they wake up every morning knowing they ought to fulfill their purpose today. They don't just live their lives recklessly, they live with a perception of purpose, which simply means they are PURPOSE-DRIVEN. A purpose-driven man will be cautious of his steps and very decisive, yes lest I forget very focused because he knows he was created to fulfill a purpose. Choose to be driven by purpose like the ants.

2. TEAMWORK: You can never see an ant trying to get a job done alone. No! You won't. You'd always see them working as a team, which, I would say, makes their work faster and easier, and also fun😊. If each and everyone had this mindset of working as a team, we would accomplish more in a short period. Even our Savior, Jesus Christ understood the value of teamwork, that's why he chose 12 disciples.

3. BALANCE: This is very important. Being able to balance themselves according to a planned schedule is top-notch for the ants. They know when to Rest and when to Work. They don't oversleep and overwork, but they have been able to strike a balance between them. I believe this is what most young people can't do easily. As an individual, you just have to learn balance. You can always ask some of you.

4. THINK BIG: It's crazy how tiny creatures can have big pictures about their lives and yet they're not in unbelief about it. If the ants can Think Big how much more are you who is made in the image and likeness of God? Yes, I know a lot of things may hinder you from having big images, e.g your environment, maybe you've been through some heartbreak, and you've tried to create big pictures again about yourself, but your too scared to admit that you wonder, even if it happens, will it last, it's all fantasy. Can I advise you? Don't stop dreaming, don't stop desiring, don't stop THINKING BIG, God will work it all out.

5. PREPARATION: It's amazing how the ants prepare ahead of time. Did you know that, Good Preparation will save you from being Stranded? Imagine if ants don't work hard and prepare for the winter season during summer, when winter finally comes they will be stranded, starving, and more, they will die. So they consider all these and prepare ahead. This is a little counsel: The year is gradually coming to an end, don't wait till you get into 2024 before you start preparing for the year. Start now to prepare for the year. We have two beautiful months left in 2023. So make the most of it by girding your loins and getting ready for the year 2024.

6. CAPACITY: It is said that ants can carry about 100 times their weight without giving any excuse. Wow, that's a whole lot. If we can stretch ourselves and build capacity, we will attain more😊.

7. SELFLESSNESS: The ability to be concerned about others rather than yourself. Ants truly have this ability. They are always concerned about one another, and they choose to serve one another. I tell you without a doubt, if we are selfless and we instill it into our children, the world will be a much better place.
