THE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE OF A MOTHER

Good afternoon members of the Hive family.

It’s good to see you here again. Today, I want to share my experiences on what I titled ‘’the unconditional love of a mother’’. Please go through this post I assure you that you will find something unique about our mothers.

Indeed, mothers are the best gift one could ever have. You might wonder why I say so, but you will get to understand it better once you’re done reading this post. I traveled to my village a few days ago to visit my parents. I informed my mum and dad about my visit to the village. They asked me to come, immediately they said that I knew before I arrived, food would be ready.

I left Uyo in Akwa Ibom State where I’m residing very late. So I pleaded with the driver to be a little bit faster since where I was heading was still far, and as a young lady, I’m not supposed to be outside at night to avoid any form of danger. I was so happy because the driver didn’t pay a deaf ear to what I said, but he drove faster than I could ever imagine

I arrived at the park around 9. pm at night. So I was so scared, because those motorcycle drivers who were at the park seemed strange to me, and I didn’t know whose motorcycle to sit on. God helped me by directing me to a good driver, and he took me safely to my parents’ house, I handed him his money and he thanked me and drove off.

On reaching the house, I didn’t come across anyone, so I had to move to the kitchen in the backyard. Immediately I arrived there, I saw my mum and she was cooking pumpkin soup for her lovely daughter. When she saw me, she jumped up and hugged me like never before, she welcomed me back home, with a smile on her face. So I turned to see if my dad was sitting beside her, but he wasn’t, so I asked about him and she said, he was in his room so I decided to go and see my beloved father in his room.

Arriving there, at my dad’s room, he stood up and hugged me. He told me he couldn’t sleep since I hadn’t arrived, and he was wondering if something bad had occurred. When I heard, that I laughed out loud and he was even wondering why I was laughing in such a manner, I told him, it had been a long since someone watched over me, and he laughed, I hugged him and went back to my room.

Immediately I entered my room, I pulled off my clothes and took my bath, and then I was given dinner to eat, and I ate. The next day was Sunday, so they told me to get prepare for church. I woke up early and finished my chores on time, then prepared for service. When we got to church, everyone was glad to see me, I moved from where I was to exchange pleasantries with those I was able to, and I wave to those I wasn’t able to exchange pleasantries with.

I enjoyed the service because it was impactful, I danced out my sorrows. However, immediately after service, I went to where our general overseer and his wife were seated, and I politely greeted them. Our general overseer and his wife were so excited to see me, so he asked his first son to take a photo of me, and he did. After that, his wife said come here my daughter, and I went. And she said to sit on my lap, I pretended as if I didn’t hear because I was wondering how I would sit on an old woman’s lap.

She said to me the second time sit on my laps my daughter, you’re growing so fast and beautiful. So I sat on her lap, and she said, do you know why I asked you to do what you’re doing?, and I said no, she said I love you so much and I want the both of us to take a photo together, and I agreed. She offered me a drink after service and I was short of words. I didn’t know what to say at that very moment. So when I returned home, I told my parents about it, and they said when a child is without blemish, he or she will dine with the kings. I was musing within myself, I was trying to imagine how faithful I was, that could earn me such honor and love outside my home, but I couldn’t find an answer to my question

At first, I thought unconditional love no longer existed, but I was forced by that action to believe that it still does, regardless of the society we live in.

Lastly, I would love to say that I enjoyed the little moment I spent in the village. And I also want to encourage our married men and women, as well as the unmarried ones to always make sure that other people around them, feel the impact of their love. There’s no need to live in a society, where your love cannot make people feel they are cherished and respected by others, even beyond their comprehension. Let’s love people unconditionally, and not when they are of benefit to us and our family members, by so doing, you will keep a good legacy for yourself, and for your unborn children.
