THE SECRET OF BEING CHEERFUL AT ALL TIME

Good afternoon members of the Hive family, it’s good to have you here this blessed afternoon. I will be sharing my past and present lifestyle with you, and I assure you of being relieved after reading this post.

I was born into a family of four children and am the second daughter. I grew up in a community where responsible people lived, they relate well with people and by so doing, they didn’t have any issues with other members of the community.

When I was eight years old, I developed the habit of not associating with my peers. I was always lonely and sad, but I didn’t want to change because I felt, that was the best way to behave to avoid problems. I recalled a particular day my aunty came to our house to visit my dad and mum, I refused to greet her because I didn’t want to have any conversation with her, so my dad shouted at me, and I greeted her but not as usual.

I did that ignorantly without knowing that I was going too far. She called me and said can you tell me why you refused to greet me? And I couldn’t utter a word and she left. Immediately I finished my primary school, I got admitted into secondary school, where I met new people from different backgrounds.

In secondary school, I purposely refused to converse with my classmates, because I felt they would laugh at me due to how funny I was in terms of my behavior. But as time went on I liked the way they had their conversation with each other, and before I knew it I started conversing with people around me, and that was how I started staying amid people.

Secondly, I was the kind of person who didn’t know how to smile even when others were smiling. I was fond of frowning because of what I passed through like troubles, sickness, and a lot more, so each time my friends asked me to smile, I told them I didn’t have any reason to smile and they decided to let me be. One fateful day, I was walking on the road and I saw one of my female friends she said to me why are you frowning your face, my friend?

She said to me, do you know what you look like each time you frown? And I said no, she told me that I always look like an old woman each time I frown. I wanted to be angry with her for calling me an old woman, but I had to accept what she said. She said to me, when you smile always it takes away sorrows, and I said is that true? She said yes, and I told her I would change but how to amend my ways was a very serious issue so I decided to apply to one private nursery school close to my residence after my secondary school. I applied there because I wanted to see if indeed smile takes away sorrows.

Fortunately enough I passed my test and I was asked to teach primary one. And I asked the proprietor what am I teaching. And he said any subject, then I chose Christian religious studies. I taught them exactly what was in that book, and the proprietor commended me. He later took me to nursery one, and I looked at the pupils that were there, a lot of thought came into my mind. I was thinking of how I’m going to cope with those children since I’ve never handled them before.

He asked me to write something on the blackboard for them to repeat after me, and I did as I was commanded. I read those words for them to repeat but none of them did, and I turned to know what stopped them from repeating what I said, and I noticed they were feeling sleepy. I recalled what my sister told me. She said when I’m teaching small children I should try and sing and also danced with them.

I didn’t know what to sing, so I had to listen to how other teachers were dealing with their children, so I used one of those songs I heard and I noticed they all woke up from sleep and started dancing. They touched the hem of my garment and asked me to dance with them and I did. While I was still dancing with them, I realized my worries left me.

Lastly, I want to say that I really learned a lot from them. They taught me how to control my emotions while I’m angry. After staying a while with them, I realized that indeed smiles take away sorrows. I want to encourage everyone who is reading this post to always be happy no matter what they go through in life because no condition is permanent. Smiling should always be part of our lifestyle, and we as living beings must always relate well with people around us.

Thank you.

In life we should appreciate the people who help us groom like yourself did. Life is a constant phase of evolution. We better know how to learn and apply from the people and situations we come across. Have a lovely month and a good day.
