Living In A Healthy Environment

Today's article is on living in a healthy environment. This topic is one of the best topics I've ever written on.

We tend to be more hygienic when our environment is nothing to write home about.

What Does The Word Healthy Mean?

The word healthy refers to the physical and mental well-being of an individual. When someone is healthy, that means such a person is free from any form of sickness or disease.

In the same way, humans are healthy, our environment ought to be a place where people can stay without being harmed.

But our environment tends to be more dirty than we could ever imagine.

Do you know I was passing by a particular street yesterday in Uyo, here in Nigeria? Uyo is the capital of Akwa Ibom State. I wasn't happy because of what I saw.

As of 2018, when I went to Uyo to stay with my aunty. It was a very decent place. When I say decent, believe me, indeed it was.

I enjoyed staying there, and I was always happy each time my aunty and her husband said we would be going for an outing.

Anytime I arrive there, I always look for my favorite spot and stay. I ate what I liked because the environment was very clean.

But trust me, I can't say it is the same way now.

One of the things that made it different from what it was was is the fact that people had decided to deposit their refuse inside the gutters that stood by the roadsides.

Each time I passed by any gutter on the road, I always felt like vomiting. The rate of wickedness is too high, especially in Nigeria, where I'm from.

They're places where people are asked to deposit
their refuse, but yet, they still refuse to go to the right place to deposit their refuse. They preferred depositing their refuse in the gutters rather than going to the appropriate place.

Our environment is stinking, and it's not good for our health. Our gutters ought to be clean always, even the water that we use in preparing our meals.

When we deposit refuse everywhere, we will end up causing damage to our environment.

The first time I heard about the flood, I didn't know what caused it. I always thought it was God's anger that always rose upon men because of their sins.

I didn't know God, was far away from it. As I grew up, I began to observe some things while walking on the road.

And I concluded that depositing refuse unnecessarily could cause a flood. Flood, as the name suggests, is not something that dries up easily. When we deposit our refuse inside the gutter, it will stop rainwater from draining to where it is supposed to.

It's something that lasts for a while. And before it could dry up, it must surely claim many people's lives, which is not good.

I'm using this medium to call on the Ministry of Health all over the globe to make sure that the environment people are living in is clean.

If they don't do that, there would still be massive sickness and untimely death among us.

I'm tired of this unpleasant situation, that's why I chose to share it here with you. I know you have learned a lot from this article, and you will do well to apply it wherever you are.

Please let's join hands together and reduce the rate of sickness that occurs to us as a result of living in an unhealthy environment.

Our lives are everything we have, and so are our environments.
