Pride begets downfall, while humility begets upliftment

over the years i have literally watched a lot people fall because of their ego. I can boldly tell you that pride would definitely not take you anywhere but rather it will be the cause of your downfall anytime you allow it gets in your way.

I've seen so many great people fall down the edge just because they can't do away with their ego. sometimes ago in the last few years probably, my mum advised me about it saying whatever height I attain in life I should not in any circumstances give room for pride and she gave me reasons for it. she said it can cause my downfall if it's allowed or welcomed in my heart and people wouldn't want to have anything to do with me again or associates their selves with me as well.

I can still vividly remember how I went to my private closet to digest this important piece of advise from my mum and I had to quickly cultivate the habit of humility, believe me it has been one of the best piece of advise I've had in the past few years. I guess we all understand how pride works, it literally makes you look down on someone you ought to help or probably move along with. it's really not a good thing to be a proud person, opportunities and help may be hindered from getting to you.

pride can make you feel you're always right about other things and not seeing things the way they ought to have been seen. Even God hates the heart that's filled with pride. he said and I quote "humble yourself and I shall uplift you in every ramifications of your life" . knowing this alone is gives me warning not to give room for pride in my heart.

now note this very well, it's a normal thing to be proud of who you're, where you come from or your close friends and relatives it's good to be proud of them but don't allow it to overwhelm you or cloud your behavior and the way you interact or socialize with other people around you, cause if you do you'll be chasing them away from you even without you realizing it.

humility in other hand is very good character one should emulate and try to adopt in every circumstances, it also attracts alot of good things to you things like, good people, success, good luck and favor from every angle of life. God himself loves the humble heart and he set those that has humble heart in high places. I'm going to share a life experience about this.

Sometime early last year when I was still working a media firm as a creative artist and as a bartender. The money I was earning was okay but not what I wished for literally but then I kept it on like for like almost a year until I got a huge gig from someone close to me and the gig happens to be a musical gig in a big church close to my office and so after the gig, I fell in love with the people there and how to they sing and worship God. So I started going to that same church I had my to play on a regular basis but not any money attached to it. At the long run the administration controlling and guiding the church were touched about my service, skills and humility and more importantly how I didn't request for a paycheck throughout those periods and well they came together and decided to put me on a payroll and that's how I got favoured by God and men.

So I believe if I had insisted on them paying me before rendering any service that's how I'd have missed the golden opportunity and being favoured. As you can see humility goes beyond one's imagination in life.
