BEAUTIFYING AN OLD BUILDING
Greetings to you all in this community @diyhub, it's been long since i made a post here.
Well that's because am working on a new designs which has taken me so long.
And am happy to present it here in this great community for all to see👇
As i said earlier this is an old house built many years back but i was able to bring it beauty back by decorating the pillars and arch as can be seen in the photo.
Now let me take us on a tour on how i was able to accomplish this.
TOOLS NEEDED:
:Angle iron
:Headpan
:Shovel
: Trowel
: Hammer
: Scrapper
:Cutter
:Tape
:Plume
: Binding wire
:Nails
: Carved design
:Brush
:Foam
There are three designs here.
1.pillar
2.cap
3.arch
Now let start with the pillar.
I will first put the angle iron on the ground and use the carved design to get the size when that is done am going to use nail and hold it so that the angle can't move or shift when i Start moulding .
I will then pour sand at the middle of the angle iron which is called sand mould, this will determine how thick or light the moulding will be
I will then measure sand the number of headpan that will be enough for me to complete the moulding.
A bag of cement is needed too for a proper mixture
Am now going to mix them together and add a reasonable amount of water for it to mix together
When the cement and sand together with the water have been properly mixed i will start my moulding by first using my shovel to put some of it in the headpan which I will now pour on top of the sand mould using the designto run through it,this is how it will be for the first time
The process will continue until the designs is clearly visible,
Now i will take some lawcement put it in the headpan turn it very well and pour it on top of the mould repeating the process of running through it with the mould until it becomes like this.
I will give it some time to dry a little then I will cut it to sizes using the scrapper.
THE CAP
To mould the cap i will make use of wood 2by 2 to be precise,i will now cut it to the sizes i want and use it to form something like T which I will nail on the ground and pour sand around it the one called redmound because of it,s gum so that what am going to mould will not fall
After that my carved mould will be use to make it more good before pouring cement on it
When i pour the cement on it the carved mould is what i will use and turn it continuously at a point when am sure that all the designs are out i will use law cement again to make it looks smooth
THE ARCH
The same method I used on the cap is the same thing i will do on the arch only that the arch mould is small compared to that of cap.
The sand mould will be made first and it will be in circle form before adding the mixed cement.
Just like the cap i will start going round with the carved mould until it get to this point
TIME TO FIX THEM
i will start with the pillar by bringing two of them together and using the binding wire to hold them together.
The middle of it will be open and sand and cement will be mixed together and pour inside to further hold it.
Next the cap will be fixed the middle of being open too to make a way for cement and sand mixed to enter

The arch:
With the pillar and the cap mounted it will now be easier for me to put the arch since i have cut it into two to make it easy for me to fix by resting on top of the cap
Afterward i will dress it up to make it look good and nice and to do this i have to remove the binding wires and take a little sand with much cement and mixed them together using it to cover some holes when it dry a little i will use my foam to smooth it there by giving it a much smooth looks.
Now it is nice looking after being painted.
