Gaining experience with plants
Today I was seeing that I already have a few plants in this piece of furniture and to think that a year ago I was buying my first plant for the apartment and now there are several, not counting the larger ones located in other areas.
Hoy estuve viendo que ya tengo unas cuantas plantas en este mueble y pensar que hace un año estaba comprando mi primera planta para el departamento y ahora son varias, sin contar las que están más grandes ubicadas en otras zonas.
My favourite fruit is the peach and a month ago I had the idea of letting some seeds dry to try to make them germinate. During this month I thought that maybe it would be a stupid idea and let the days go by. Yesterday I started looking for a tutorial and found something. First it was good to let the seed dry, although in my case a month has already passed. The next thing is to break this layer, which would really be the one that covers the real seed. You have to do it carefully so as not to break it and the next thing would be to hydrate the seed, at least 24 hours soaking in a container.
Mi fruta favorita es el durazno y hace un mes se me había ocurrido dejar secar unas semillas para intentar hacerlas germinar, durante todo este mes pensé que quizá sería una idea estúpida y dejé pasar los días. Ayer me puse a buscar algún tutorial y encontré algo. Primero estuvo bien dejar secar la semilla, aunque en mi caso ya pasó un mes, lo siguiente es romper esta capa, que realmente sería la que cubre a la verdadera semilla, hay que hacerlo con cuidado para no romperla y lo siguiente sería hidratar la semilla, al menos 24 horas remojando en un recipiente.

Transcurridos las 24 horas, se nota una diferencia, realmente sí están más hidratadas. Ahora lo siguiente será cubrirlas, primero usaremos una servilleta húmeda y más tapamos, luego haremos lo mismo con un papel aluminio, esto para permitir oscuridad y crear el ambiente adecuado.
The last thing is to put it in a cold place, in this case the refrigerator until it germinates, the process can take up to 4 weeks.
This is just one of the methods. I also saw another where they placed the seed covered with cotton in a container, always checking that the cotton was moist until the seed germinates. I will wait over time to see what results I get.
I also want to mention that I do it because I want to learn to grow, to give life, maybe I don't have the necessary space for the plants to develop to maturity right now but at least I will have the experience to do it in the future.
Lo último es ponerla en un lugar frío, en este caso la nevera hasta que germinen, el proceso puede tardar hasta 4 semanas.
Este es sólo uno de los métodos. También ví otro dónde colocaban la semilla cubierta con algodón en un recipiente, siempre verificando que el algodón estuviera húmedo hasta que la semilla germine. Yo esperaré con el tiempo a ver qué resultados obtengo.
También quiero mencionar que lo hago porque quiero aprender a cultivar, a dar vida, quizá no tengo por ahora el espacio necesario para que las plantas se desarrollen hasta su madurez pero al menos tendré la experiencia para hacerlo en el futuro.
