Who Deserves Your Money When You're No Longer Here?

The problem with having money beyond your spending capacity is worrying about who inherits it when you're no longer there to continue spending. There are people who have built business empires, made enough money to last three generations, and are still generating massive compound revenues.

One thing about money is that people believe it will never be enough. There is money, and there is more.

People strive to make more money because they are afraid that it will run out if they continue to spend it. In the process, they build businesses that become so profitable that they forget they only have short lives.

Given how short life can be, many people strive for unimaginable wealth only to forget that life is short when they begin to age or develop frail health.

Making money is frequently seen as a flex for the wealthy.*

80% of wealthy people make money to stay competitive, rather than to meet their basic needs. It is strange because they started out making money to provide, only to start making money later to compete for status and rank.

Human needs become more complex and bogus as they gain access to more resources. Rich people face numerous challenges, which are frequently overlooked. Most wealthy people are insecure; they struggle to find suitable heirs to manage their money; they are constantly paranoid and find it difficult to trust; and the more money they have, the more likely these events are to occur.

Money & Next Of Kin

I once read a post about Jackie Chan wanting to give his wealth to charity rather than his son; it appears unfair on the surface, but the pain and effort that comes with making money is why people are always concerned about who receives their money when they die.

If you have not realized it yet, money is vanity; most of the time, the joy of making money comes from knowing that you are actually making it. Many people have reached the pinnacle of their earning potential and are no longer satisfied.

However, when people can afford their numerous bucket lists and fantasies and have reached the pinnacle of affordability, there is no joy in earning money.

Humans are versatile in their beliefs.

The lessons we learn shape us in various ways, and people can become dissatisfied with their money when they realize there is nothing else to buy besides endless frivolities.

However, just because people are tired of their money does not mean they want to give it away. People have sold their souls to make money, not by giving it to the devil, but by sacrificing a lot of time, sleep, and other things, and this never-ending list of sacrifices is why rich people find it difficult to give up their money.

When it comes to the issue of next of kin, it becomes extremely difficult, especially if the person giving away the money has a large sum of money. Unless you have a loving family, most people never love rich people for who they are; it is always the same.

A person who was raised in a loving family will have no problem giving their money to their extended family members, but most of the time, money strife arises when people believe their family has done nothing to deserve their money.

This is why most wealthy people come across as stingy.

I came across a random guy online who was speaking with his bank account officers and telling them not to give his money to his family or next of kin if he could not be found. This could be for content purposes, or he may have meant what he was saying, but in reality, many people behave this way.

Many people have different perspectives on money and family, which is due to the diversity of their experiences.

If I had any money, I would not mind sharing it with my spouse, child, and possibly anyone else, but I doubt I have any such money and do not have to worry about it. However, if I did not have a nuclear family and had some money to spare, I might be less interested in my extended family.

There are many people suffering from the condition I have, and they can receive this money; I have friends who have become like family to me, and they can receive it as well; I would not mind giving it to the church of God, but because I do not have any money, all of this is just talk.

The Vanity Of It All

So I believe that money strife is the most serious issue we face in life, and that it is the most serious problem a sick and dying wealthy person can have. There is a lot of vanity in life, and money is one of them. It can sometimes lead to people losing themselves when it comes to giving away their money.

If you are out there now, aspiring to be wealthy beyond measure, it is important to consider these things; life is truly shorter than you realize, and the objects behind the mirror are closer than they appear.

I think you’re talking about DJ Chicken who said his money should only be given to the less privileged
We are all different and as for me, I’d give it to my family and kids in particular so they can continue the generational wealth I’ve created😁😁

Yeah, it's him, I randomly saw the post and I didn't really even comment or open it, but then it's a topic that's controversial so I decided to talk about it.

As regards transfer of wealth, and the guy you said you saw online, the issue there maybe DISTRUST, which could be as a result of one's experience with his family (either nuclear or extended). However, such narrative can be influenced. If you didn't come from a good family, you can be intentional about building a good family of your own, where trust and core values (which especially has to do with handling money) can be taught. It starts from having a good wife, good children, making up a good family. But I love how you ended it... Even though wealth is important, it is still vanity. there's a need to place a balance... Get to know why you want to be wealthy. If for the wrong reasons, there are consequences that follow.

Money is a curse in this world, equally for the poor and the wealthy. Those who have often don't trust others and the money run their life. On the flip side being poor is a curse because for some people it's impossible to escape poverty. I do think Jackie Chan giving all of his money to charity is his choice, but it will likely create hard feelings from family especially his son if he doesn't have a well paying job.

A blessing or a curse, I call money a curse. But if we didn't have money you still would need too exchange other items to survive. It wish it weren't this way, but society can't seem to function without it...

Without money it's difficult to survive. If I had it my way, I'd only wish to be comfortable with my family and also to be able to extend a hand to people who truly needs it. I don't want much of it. At the moment, my soul is more important then anything and I'd rather not lose it to the rat race of life.

Like you've said, it's a blessing and a curse, but the greed of people makes it more of a curse

As for Chan, I once read that his son was a drug addict and lived irresponsibly and if he (Chan) successfully gives away that money, there's truly going to be bad blood.

More wealth just brings more trouble.

Life is short... very short as no one knows when the heart will stop beating. That's why whatever we have now, we ought to take good care of ourselves(health, most importantly). This is why I will never understand people who worship money. I have come in contact with few, and their actions disgust me, I must confess.

Investment is always fun and a good one until it is time to choose who inherits them. I am just hearing the news regarding Jackie, and I really can't say how he feels. He understands the need for the decision made.

I am investing my time(money) in places I believe will matter, and for Hive, I'll get back to investing soon. Regardless of things I do, I make sure to take care of me and always remember that any time, once breath can cease.

Regardless of how we take care of ourselves, sometimes we cannot control some things in my opinion. I've met people who are wealthy and a lot of them are really not nice people.
When it comes to inheriting wealth, there are big problems like you've pointed out. More money, more problem, as you can also know that wealthy people's children (some) are somewhat not always the best. It's it's difficult to actually continue wealth legacy.

Well, keep investing in what you deem right, it basically pays in time.

Yes, we can not, but there are things that can be prevented.

That's money. Money maketh a man😅.

Yeah, that's right. It is sad, though.

Sure!

I think there is the possibility some (if not most) of the super-wealthy to be vain people. Even their charities are often about them as if they are the center of the universe.

I also think some are trying to teach their children a few lessons, because we know the children of the rich and famous often end up really bad either during the lifetime of their parents or afterwards.

I understood something in life. We rarely see the reality about someone's situation unless we lived similar circumstances. Otherwise, we see a distorted reality or even a fantasy that has nothing to do with reality.

I find it really hard to understand why some wealthy people are like that, but then I understand. Money and power can corrupt people and sometimes people forget themselves in the things they have and it becomes really catastrophic.

Wealthy people children already know they'll entitled to the wealth of their parents so some of them just wants to enjoy the wealth and nothing more, it's difficult for some wealthy people to continue their legacy especially if they've got irresponsible children.

At the end of the day, it's mostly vanity, but people realize it too late..

It's funny how people live their lives like they came to this world only to make money, I'm not saying money is not important, but on a second thought everything is vanity just like chasing after the wind 🍃.

Of course without money how can we live? But you've said it right, far too many people live their lives to make money alone.

It's a hard question to answer. I think having money will reduce the hardship they get, but at the same time, I don't know if I trust charities. There have been too many scams in regards to that and I guess it just differs from person to person. I think it's better to give it to your family than to charity but then again, I am not as rich as those wealthy people.

You're right, charitable organisation can be scam and money laundering schemes, however there are good ones and there are people who still chooses it. In my opinion, I have a family, and I'll give it to them.

I love giving, and I plan on having my own charity organization someday.
I think it's almost a norm these days where the rich prefer to give their money out to charity when they die instead of family. ( Firstly these people have built their kids to be billionaires without them. They're on a monthly paycheck, the only difference is that they don't get an inheritance. But overall, those kids are far better than the average man even without their parents money)

I would rather give my money to family, definitely not all, but I'll make sure my kids dont lack. ( Imagine donating everything only for your kids to end up starting from scratch 😂😂)
