The Past, Present & Future Of Choices

Logical Assertions

The present is as important as the future, that's why we exist in the former, but hoping to be in the latter. The truth is that existing in "the now" requires adequate planning. This means that one's planning on things like healthcare, investment choices, Financial discipline and scope, a framework to beat things like inflation can ensure that one even has a change to be in the future that they're planning for.

For example, I find it weird that a person consumes high intake of alcohol and spends money on cigarette and drugs, and yet they're accumulating money of which they plan to spend in the future. I call it an "economic juxtaposition" and this is because living in the future doesn't require monetary proactive thinking alone.

First and foremost, life is an essential part of the future and when we make plans for the things around without considering life and health, it becomes foolhardy. This is why a thorough Scrutiny of life, the present and future helps us make the right choice.

An Economic Foundation

Likewise, the past, present and the future are interwoven, we cannot build our lives without making emphasis to the past, the past plays a major role in executing a better or even worse "present". For example, a person whose parents left no property or investment will have no basis or capital to build, especially if they want to be an entrepreneur.

Now this person's plans will automatically be altered because of a financial situation made possible by the past. It's just like a person too with inheritance, firstly they're building their plans on the solidity of the funds they have at their disposal.

They will be making cogent plans, solid moves because there's the means to actually make these plans rather realistic. So people would Inevitably make reference to their past when it comes to building their present and this happens rather involuntarily, as expected and normal.

Competition & The Basis Of Time

One of the reasons why there will always be unfair competition in life is because of the past. The past lays a solid foundation for either success or failure. Some people already have a basis, a good standing, hence increasing their opportunity to even do well.

In the past, even till date, people's color or races becomes a financial constraint, this is why sometimes it's often touted that a particular race is superior as a result of the bedrock, established to them by their ancestors. Nevertheless, most people recognize what their constraints is, making sure to putting extra effort to mitigate these constraints.

As for planning for the future, the present automatically becomes involved. Truth is, we cannot rob the present to actually pay the future. A lot of people feels that depriving themselves of necessities is one way to enrich their future, but this isn't true. This phenomenon is often relatable in spending.

The Reality With Being Futuristic

Sometimes people misplace meaning in things. Some might see excessive alcohol as plain enjoyment, but then they find it difficult to spend enough money to feed well. They're often contended with spending excessively on alcohol but wouldn't do so when it comes to food.

They'd say feeding well is expensive and deters them from actually saving for the future for them, doesn't excessive alcohol deters them from saving for the future as well as reducing their chances on a daily basis of actually "seeing" the future they're trying to plan for?

It's important to be intentional, especially when accessing the concept of the past, present and the future. This is why some of the most brilliant people often fail, because they find it difficult to pay attention to little details. Life is intricate, this is why our choices must contain certain financial limitations and precautions.

.....The Other Viable Option?

At the end of the day, striving wisely ensures our present isn't totally dependent on the past, the choices we have at hand or how far we can go in life. This is how we inadvertently begin to shape up nicely for the future. Due to lack of resources, we must not make unwise decisions simply because we believe the future is at stake.

Sometimes we do not carefully scrutinize our options, hence our lives seemingly becomes overrated. I repeat it again, we cannot rob the present to pay the future, especially if the basis for doing so is not logical or thoroughly purposeful. Money for example is meant to be spent, firstly, before it can enact or take care of other secondary issues.

We need to firstly be financially steady to safeguard the future, if not, our primary purpose would be to take care of the moment. It boils down to choices, however we shouldn't lose the present in a mindless quest to settle the future.

I think all three (past, present and future) are all important. The past can be used so you don't make the same mistakes again and the future is good motivation for your goals. In my opinion, the present is probably the most important because it affects everything going forward. In a way, I really do wish people were a bit more financially educated so they could make better informed choices.

Well making educated choices sometimes stems from evening having the right experience. It's Why I believe experience itself serves a certain utility more than we can imagine, its Why making references to the past can influence how good we tend to handle things in the moment.

While all are important, I think the present is most important because the past is a reflection of it and the present is the only thing we have at hand, also the future depends on what we make of the present. So consciously living in the present determines the what future will look like as a lesson for the future

Yeah, nevertheless we make references to the past, it can come in handy. But then like you said, we create our present, different and how we want it to be

I don't take my past to heart because it is the past but I believe my present is so important because it builds my future.

My past made me who I am and my present would make me who I want to be in the future.

Good one, I totally understand you, however if looking from a Financial Standpoint, reckoning with the past can be a deciding factor as to how well one does in a business prospect.

True but then again the past could also stop you from starting a business just because it failed in the past.

I agree history is a vital part of the present and in some cases the future.

This is what I do...

I let the past serve as a guide for my life because its lessons cannot be under-rated/over-rated. I endeavor to make intentional decisions in my present that I know would surely impact my future.

Thank you for sharing this! @josediccus
