The Crypto Space & Hive: Checking The Similarities Of The FUD Going On.

I've been spending a lot of time on Twitter and the FUD seems to be back full-time. I mean, when anyone says anything about Bitcoin, it's sure to come back to the price. Now all these talks about CBDC and crypto and how the US is trying to ban BTC is clearly getting to believers, the reason is not that they doubt crypto, I believe that it's because they're humans.

I once mentioned that FTX and SBF had played a huge role in where we are today, but someone said there was a major exchange that crashed in 2015 and still, and the bull of 2017 still happened. First of all, I think crypto in 2015 and 2017 is quite different from crypto in 2022 and 2023.

Now we have more investors. Crypto ads were being displayed during the bull of 2021, there are more crypto projects, people who were involved with FTX constituted a huge percentage of the crypto industry, and while I'm glad that a bad actor is no longer out there, we still have to understand that some of the regulations and laws that are now being stipulated for crypto were fast-tracked by what happened to FTX.

We might have recovered from that, but the ripple effect is intertwined with almost every piece of FUD that's being sold by people who are anti-crypto.

That golden fleece is always going to be nipped in the bud when general influencers or the SEC need a justification for any regulation they're hoping to throw.

......Nevertheless, I'm fascinated that people predict further gloom when there's red and predict hope when there's a little recovery. At this juncture a lot of people don't know anything, virtually every prediction I've seen since October 2022 has been flung out of the window.

But it's what it is, I think the market will do its thing and people who are holding should do their thing and the market will respond positively when it does. I know time is important in crypto, but at this point, I just want to do my thing and not listen to what anyone thinks anymore.

The origin of FUD is weighing the intensity of what the supposed experts say and allowing these things to determine or control our decisions.

Moreover, it's not been much different on hive. Downvotes are the new FUD that's selling on hive. It seems there's been an argument on if AI if it is totally bad or just a little bit bad but inevitable.

I'm surprised as to why it's not been a landslide acceptance that AI contents are totally bad. However, I think one of the reasons for this is that a lot of people are latching onto it to express their concerns on the cumulative downvotes issues that have been concurrent on hive in recent times.

Relating to hive.......

I read NEOXIAN's post and it seemed as if it fuelled bigger arguments and conversations as to what policing should be and what it shouldn't be. In the end, it seems those laden with the responsibilities will continue as no group of persons have volunteered to take the place of the old guards.

However, one positive thing I've picked from the whole thing is that, if the policing was mindless as it touted, then I'm guessing this will act as a reality check to go back to the drawing board and get it right. I think the main thing is that curation would be more mindful and structural while downvotes would be more lenient rather than mindless and vengeful or creating a feeling of vendetta, jealousy, and hate.

Of course, there will never be collective agreement on a blockchain as hive, sometimes this gives a negative vibe, even if we know the positive sides are marvelous. Nevertheless, I think we'll come to agree to disagree. Nothing will ever stop, those who believe they're right will keep doing what they're doing, but at least when a consensus is established that they have to replace hardiness and brute force with understanding and communication, then this is when we'll begin to head somewhere.

This is the FUD vibes that are emanating from hive and sometimes the argument that scalability is important should often truncate other things that can be viable to an extent.

Price & FUD

I think at this juncture, things like price are already a recipe for FUD I don't think other negative vibes that create FUD should be allowed to grow. In the grand scheme of things, I like the reality check that this has given me.

Sometime last year I was making some crazy plans, but I like how some of the recent reality checks have pulled me back to reality about what's viable and what isn't and I'm grateful for that. Sometimes we make plans without seeing the hedge in front of us, and I'm glad I've come to perceive things clearly.

On a brighter note

I'm happy for the relationships I've come to establish via hive. I'm grateful for the fake ones and happy for the real ones. The offline capabilities of hive are almost as huge as the one on-chain. Different people have formed amazing business and casual relationships.

Some of the best relationships I've formed in my life have been via hive. The intentions of a sizeable population of people here are genuine, this is another huge potential of hive we might need to probably sell someday. The FUD will eventually pass and when it does we might as well forget days like this. Don't allow it to dissuade you from Accumulating, as that is the principal thing.

You can stop by Spotify to check the conversation I had with selfhelp4trolls, he's been trying to bring some external audience to hive through some creative and viable ways indeed, you can check it here. Check out the remaining conversation with other people and follow him as well.

Also, you can check out @jj-finance, it's a maiden account co-run by @joetunex and I, although we've not talked much in over a month now, but you can go back to check some amazing contents we've made in the past.

For me, FUD in crypto will always be there. While a lot of negativity surrounds it, I sometimes see it as a great thing. The inability to accurately predict the next crypto move trains one to be firm and responsible for their decisions.

I read NEOXIAN's post and it seemed as if it fuelled bigger arguments and conversations as to what policing should be

I read it too and saw it has some substance, maybe its not entirely the complete picture. For example, I stopped onboarding newbies when I was called out somewhere on discord for onboarding someone that was caught plagiarizing. If a parent did all they could to raise a responsible child, should they be hold by any human or court if that child CHOOSES to misbehave? Thats the picture there. So basically, Everyone should be dealt with accordingly if they have been around in reasonable enough time to know whats acceptable on the blockchain.

I think the main thing is that curation would be more mindful and structural while downvotes would be more lenient rather than mindless and vengeful

Thats the point. And sometimes, name calling or shaming is not really necessary. There are better ways to address wrongs and achieve positive things

I have seen a whole lot of situations where people decide to plagiarize and the wrath descends on people who onboarded them. It's true that a lot of people are actually not writers but one of the things I tell people not to do is not plagiarize or even download pictures online. I try to tell them to do everything 100% original. This is one of the reason why I do not do a lot of on-boarding. However I still think we can improve on our part and. police leniently. But you are right, everyone should be accountable for their own actions.

Thats the point. And sometimes, name calling or shaming is not really necessary. There are better ways to address wrongs and achieve positive things

This is actually true. A lot of downgrading and shaming happens, it can be condescending. In order not to be in such situations in the first place I think everyone should try to be decent rather than trying to cheat the system. It's a wake up call really.

The FUD will always come to life when the market suddenly turns red and the reverse is the same. It is always best to stick to one's strategy in the crypto space provided it is yielding the desired outcome.

AI thing personally is not a fan of it being used to generate content. Call me a stick in the mud, but I simply prefer the human touch to write articles.

Regarding the downvotes, I'd like some rationale to be applied to it while policing on the chain with the interest of retention, especially on the newbies whom I have seen got discouraged due to downvotes.
Bottomline is let all have the interest of Hive at heart for whatever we do, unfortunately, though there will always be bad actors.

Appologies to you and our jj-finance viewers, the long break has been as a result of my move from SA, we will get back to it shortly.

Am on my bike to listen to your Spotify talk.

The last year's FUD was crazy. I think it got to everyone at that point in time. I have seen a lot of people sued almost out their portfolio. Then I begin to question myself how they will take advantage of the bull market when it eventually comes. This is one of the reasons why people never break through crypto because they're never patient and they sell everything when they should hodl.

As for AI THE PEOPLE WHO USE IT HAVE MOSTLY DEFENDED THEMSELVES. They say that AI is inevitable. However I do believe that it is another person's work and doesn't come with that originality to it. The fact that the reward pool is up for grasp is why people should choose to at least dance to the tune of the system. However I have disagreed with the way the policing have gone.

I think we can show understanding and communication rather than capital punishment. In all reality we are still chasing scalability. At the end of the day we can all find better ways to do this things.

It's been close to two months but I have to admit that life has been treating us differently, and you have recently moved which is a big change in your life. There's no pressures, eventually we will be up and doing again.

Well, it gets to a time, the FUD gets to more people. One thing I can hope for is a huge turnaround. We've been through the ringer.

Sometimes one of the best way to help yourself is to stay away from places that will make you twice when btc is not doing and one of them is twitter. The market have a way of toying with our decision but this is normal. Let keep the hopes high

Yes, I'm absolutely keeping the faith high bro. I'm glad for all the decisions I've made thus far. I think listening to FUD isn't my style, anyone should avoid some form of FUD in some places.

Great write up and I must admit the FUD is at another level especially in the US. There is collapse of some banks, the selling of BTC by US govt and talks of the SEC labelling ETH as a security. The centralized authorities are bent on destroying crypto. But just as you put it , accumulating is key. We all know that BTC and crypto is here to stay.
Thank you for sharing and enjoy the upcoming weekend :}

It's become hellish in the US lately and sometimes it feels really fraustrating. We need to be getting out of this price position already because it's crazy. However, accumulation is key, I'm doing my best to make that a priority.

The FUD has always been there and the market just goes in a cycle. It just seems like there are a ton of bad things going on and the Silvergate bank run doesn't help.

As for AI and policing, I think it's just some growing pains. It was bound to happen at some point and it will take some time to build out the guidelines. I just hope that people will be transparent if they do use AI because I think anyone who doesn't is probably feeling guilty. Let people make their own informed decision.

You're right about the FUD, it's always been there. Nowadays it just seems elongated and more harsh, but I do hope we can actually get past this one.

Well, I believe we're not really handling it well. Some people will still be adamant and use it, while creating a line of defense for themselve. Nevertheless, we just need a good way to handle it. The way of DVs can be chaotic.

The current downvoting is tame in comparison to the past. I've been here since the beginning.

And yes, AI content is garbage. Hive is meant to be about community, which means humans, not algorithms.

Irrespective, I believe we should have evolved in the way we treat downvote related issues. Wow, I see your account dates back to 2016. Oh my!

Evolved? Human evolution takes quite some time. So the way downvotes are handled are not going to change anytime soon... sadly.

2016, yes been around since very early on. I see you've been here since 2017, so you've also clocked a few years on the platform.
