Splinterlands: Preparing For Rebellion
I decided to burn my Gold level-2 Edith Emberstar for 10k DEC, I did this because I already have a level one BCX of this Gladius card, in fact, one more card means I'll be able to make it level two.
However, we all know gold cards pack more value. Burning this, means I've potentially made away with 10k collection Power. In splinterlands these days, collection Power does not matter anymore. The main reason why I decided to burn this card was because I needed cash to prepare for rebellion.
I currently do not have any money externally to invest in rebellion, so I'm currently looking for ways to flip assets and sell off cards in my arsenal that might be surplus to requirement or are not necessarily useful to me in gameplay.
So I already knew I was going to burn this Gladius card the moment I got it. Maybe if Rebellion wasn't going to be released, maybe I'd leave it. It's currently my most valuable Gladius asset. It stands at 10k DEC in valuation, but selling it might eventually serve a bigger purpose.
Also, I sold my GRUND (epic earth melee card) for 47 cents. Although the correct valuation was $0.48, but I knew I wasn't going to get an immediate sale if I listed it at the exact price. I was lucky enough to sell it one cent cheaper. I listed the Djinn Murat I got the other day at 7 cents less, and after a long while, it still didn't sell, I reduced the price by 2 cents again and it still didn't sell automatically.
Although I should have checked the recent market prices, but I wasn't going to reduce the price below $1.68, so I felt maybe it was a sign that I shouldn't list it anymore. I have about 8.5 Vouchers. I wish it was up to 10, I could used it for two packs, but it means I didn't accumulate enough before time. I also tried selling the River Herondale, but its price was around 1.6$ if I'm correct. I think it's a legendary and the price might still go up later, but I decided not to sell it.
I'm beginning to think the rarity of the Djinn Murat isn't so rare because it would have sold the moment I put it out there, but unfortunately, it didn't sell.
In hours, the rebellion presale will go live, I'm glad to have realized at least 10k DEC to be able to purchase two packs. I currently don't know the price it'll be going for. Some people say it'll be going for $5 but the official announcement actually mentioned $3.10. I'm guessing everyone will find out.
If it's the latter, then I may just have enough to buy 3 packs in the presale. I don't know if rebellion will span till mid or late 2024, if it does, hopefully, the market might have just recovered enough for a little more pack purchase, maybe into late 2024, no one knows. I'll be looking forward to the presale and keeping myself busy with all the news.

I plan to rent Rebellion cards. I want to test them in battles and buy the cards I need. Maybe I can arrange some cash by December.
I'm only buying 2 or 3 packs for the presale because of the added advantage of qualifying for a rare or special edition. Your plan is very solid, by December, players would have saturated the market with the cards.

Oh, thank you for your post. I didn't know that Gladius cards could be converted to DEC. I thought these cards would stay with me forever. I also have a 10k DEC Gladius Card, Gold Quora Towershead Level 2, which is my card with the highest CP.
Of course they can be burned, that's what I especially did to get that 10k DEC. goodluck with it. However once burned you can never get it back
I will keep Quora. I am thinking of burning a Gold level 3 Orella Abadon. It has 4,000 CP.
It's tough and I am still on the fence for pulling out some HBD from savings. I decided to put some untamed packs on the market to see if I can get some Hive from that. It looks like even untamed has dropped quite a bit so maybe I should have sold that a lot earlier. Either way, I will wait to see how things go before I try for 100 packs.
Selling cards earlier than later always gives more value in terms of money. However because it's the bear market, having and holding HBD always helps one to maintain some stability. That's why HBD all day. But it's a tough call to make.

I had to, I already had a regular foil of the card and I needed to buy some rebellion pack.
Rebellion will keep players busy in the Modern format while more wealthy players will invest more of their time on the Land management.
