Splinterlands: How To Defeat A Maxed-Out Summoner

Untitled design_20240312_113908_0000.png

In this game, I played a Maxed out Summoner with a level 3 Summoner, and I won comfortably, see this epic game.
I don't think I've ever played a max-level summoner, but this new system has done some outrageous pairing and the surprising thing is that I've not been completely slaughtered by this pairing like I thought I would in the beginning.

Playing against a level 8 General Sloan is something that makes you give up immediately after you see the lineup of your opponent, and even before the battle begins. I checked out the price of the General and it was just a bit over $38, not that this is too much, but the problem is not just checking the cost of your opponent's lineup, but checking the cost of the cards at their disposal and the strategy they have employed. Most of all, you have to be really careful about their strategy, because this is what will hurt you and not what they've lined up.

With a Maxed-Out Summoner, your opponent can use their cards to the fullest of their potential, which means that the more level cards they have, the more new abilities they can unleash, they have an increase in their attack type and even more speed, of which these elements can combine to decide the outcome of a match. I'm not a genius, so this post isn't about discussing my gaming prowess, it's just a post that highlights the fact that having high-level summoners and cards is not enough to guarantee you anything.

I just came out from an eight-game losing streak, and I was defeated by even lower-level cards in this game. However, the reason why this post is a must-read is because of the level of summoner that I used in this post. So I used a level 3 Thaddeus Brood, and played strictly to the Ruleset.

How I Won The Game

The opponent targeted my Matyr card quite early, and this buffed the attack of my melee and magic cards, so I was lucky he came all out with melee cards, and it was easier to take out his backline. His lineup was stunning. He did everything right, but I just about played to the Ruleset more than him and I got lucky. Did you see the emphasis on luck? A lot of people will think it's almost an impossible venture to come out with a lower-level summoner.

Sometimes, some elements are not within our prediction that works in the game that we cannot calculate, one of these elements is miss.. I know there are abilities within the game that allow cards to naturally miss attack because it's their ability. But have you wondered why a card never had dodge or fly and yet you cannot seem to hit a shot and it becomes the sole reason why your opponent steals a victory you could have gotten?

Sometimes it just works in your favor. Your card avoids an attack despite not having the ability to make them do so. In this game, I played to the Ruleset and I had the luck of miss and I just about took my opponent to the cleaners. It must've hurt, they did everything right, and put in the right resources, in fact, there's nothing else they could have done, they just had the best and yet still lost to me.

This is why it's Splinterlands: it's a game.

Most times you're not guaranteed anything despite the reduction or increment of your chances. The odds will always be, the odds.

Buying SPS

I have been buying SPS little by little and as much as I can afford. This last one I got SPS a little under $5 if I'm not mistaken, and I've been staking and accumulating as little as I can. I wired some assets here and there and decided to channel the little proceeds to getting some more SPS.

Gladius Cards

Here, I also got some Gladius cases with some of the merits I have and I've not been lucky to pull some Gold foil epics or rare, but they've been instrumental in helping me improve some of the levels of my Gladius cards.

The new battle ranking system has been interesting to say the least. Do you find that it's been a bit easier this season overall?

It's not been as bad as I initially expected. Seeing that I'm just an average deck owner with card support here and there. I think I have even managed to perform better than when the system wasn't in place. I'm at 38 chest for the season. In the past it wouldn't have been possible. So I've pulled some interesting wins. It's been better

Nice will! Those martyr cards can change everything in a match. You did it right! General Sloan is usually not too bad to beat, but a level 3 against an 8 that's impressive!

My Gladius pulls have sucked lately. No GF or useful cards. I keep hoping for a GF Quora! Or at least enough cards to level her up to level 2!

Yeah, look at that level difference. This is what makes it an interesting win for me. I think getting a Gold Quora is something that only happens once in a year or once in two years. They're extremely rare to be very honest

The funny things is I know one person who has one and I've seen several come up against me. So there are some out there!

How are you holding up today?

I have played against level 2 and 3 Quora probably, but I'm not sure I've seen a gold. I'll be excited to really get it.

How are you holding up today?

I'm going to be traveling on Thursday, so I'm just trying to prepare myself physically and mentally.

How about you?

you were strategically better than your opponent because your choice to use magic cards and to use a card with the Martyr ability allowed you to win the battle. Also very important was the choice of venari bonesmith which because of the increased speed and life leach ability was an important card in the battle.
Good battle my friend

Thank you. You're correct. I was strategic and it goes to show that my opponent was not as lucky too. That leech was very instrumental and it made sense to actually have it, the martyr ability amplified it, if not I could have lost the game truly. Thank you for the support too. I appreciate

Nice win. I think you won because of that Life Leech and heal. It all added up as you killed off his backline and I agree that getting lucky with dodges can make the difference between a win and loss easily.

Everyone has cards, but the one who wins the most games is the one who uses them and uses them at the right time. This game is very interesting.
