Is the world becoming increasingly exclusive?

Most people in third-world countries are deprived of many basic necessities by their governments, which leads them (us) to seek better lives and greener pastures elsewhere. Immigrant tendencies have existed for decades, and most people have successfully fled the tyranny of corrupt governments to live better lives in other countries.

However, the percentage of people who have succeeded is lower than that of those who have failed, which can be discouraging. There are people who have migrated to first or second world countries in the hopes of making it big; however, they face discrimination, racism, and segregation.

I saw a thread on Twitter where people talked about their experiences and the jobs they did, and while the stories were funny, they were truly sad.

Third-world countries are among the most depressing places. These places have never seen revolutions; they are ruled by generations of kleptomaniacs, as we see in the majority of these countries, and this causes people to flee, seeking refuge elsewhere.

I saw on the Internet that over 400k Nigerians applied for visas to the UK this year, which is a staggering statistic. I understand that the UK is now a multiracial country, similar to the US, but it is only a matter of time before the UK begins to make its borders unfavorable or hostile to people trying to enter.

Most of these people apply for student visas, and because it provides good business opportunities for the UK, their visas are usually approved.

Do not get me wrong, a lot of people are living pleasant lives and reaping the benefits in some of the countries; they are the ones who have been favored, but the ones who have not been favored are more, and it is truly sad that most people are made inadequate as a result of the passports they hold.

Many citizens of third-world countries face discrimination in these second- or first-world countries. While this is disheartening, most third-world countries are suffering as a result of their government's decades and centuries of corruption.

Of course, I understand that even good countries face hardship, but it is on a different scale for developing countries.

South Africa

Consider South Africa, which is arguably the most developed African country; however, if they had not undergone complete adoption and colonial conquest, as well as having a more responsible government, they could have ended up like Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Sudan, and Somalia.

They say the one-eyed person is the king of the blind man's land. It is no surprise that South Africa has become a haven for many other African countries, but it has also become xenophobic, killing immigrants and all.

The country is mostly favourable to white immigrants because they believe they contribute to development rather than being freeloaders.

If the world were equally good, the phenomenon of immigration would not exist, with people fleeing their countries as victims of war crimes and so on. I have a medical condition that limits me in many aspects of life, and people are not receiving adequate care; the government does not care, and even people who are stronger and fitter are struggling to thrive in a place like Nigeria.

Of course, I could ask some people I know here about my chances of moving to their countries with my immediate family, but that would be unimaginable.

People are not always as fortunate; some benefit from their predecessors' efforts, while others bear the consequences of their predecessors' actions.

Many others enjoy things they did not earn through hard work. It is an unfair world, and people who have enough to look after themselves always find it intrusive when others try to share from what they have.

Yes, most of the people in the third world are suffering intensively. No jobs, no infrastructure, and nothing to show or boost. Our world needs help.

Thank you for sharing.

Probably until there's a massive revolution, the rulers and government will keep exchanging the future of people. It's worse in Nigeria and it's such a pity

It's sad that the world really is like this. I have lived in third world countries before so I know exactly what you mean. Government corruption prevents the nation from flourishing. I know your country needs a lot of improvements, but with corrupt leaders it's never going to happen. It sucks...

You're right, it's never going to happen and that's the saddest part of it, it looks like the corruption is inherent, and it's passed down from one corrupt people to another. If I had my way, I wouldn't be here, unfortunately, I am.

Corrupt governments are the cancer of the world, of every country, here in Brazil it is no different, we are doomed to failure until this system changes.

It's sad how many people leave their countries for a better life, only to face discrimination and struggle. The inequality is just unfair.i just hope it gets better soon.

Exactly, when people try to take or share the resources of others, they try to protect it.

I have read of how many people suffer in other countries after migrating. If things are working well the way it should be..no one will love to go live in a strange land... sadly, Nigeria may not develop to the point that people wouldn't want to leave and go try their luck in other countries...as much as I nurse the idea of living one day...I am kinda scared of the outcome...if things are not to hard here...I can't even think of going anywhere but it's what it is

It's definitely not easy in Nigeria, but it's also not a bed of roses out there, a lot of people have failed completely due to the system being unfavorable to them, in all these, I blame the government of Nigeria and the people that voted for them

The world is unfair and it's tough. You either get lucky or require connections to get success. I don't think most people will hit either one and it's tough. However, I think people can only do the best with what they have. Even in the US, a lot of people are suffering and the costs have increased. So I don't think it's the solution that will last either.

Yeah, it's why I mentioned that life can be equally hard everywhere, but it's tougher in these third world countries where the political elites have doomed their citizens to a life a misery and suffering.

I think one of the reasons they face the challenges of what other people think of them when they do immigrate is because, as cruel as it sounds, it can add hardship to those who were born and raised in that area.

Just as an example, Canada is facing a huge housing crisis, in particular the area I live in with rent for two bedroom apartments costing $1500 or more, when just a few years ago you'd be paying $700 for that.

A part of the reason for that increase is because we live in a university town that accepts an astronomical amount of students from India. Because of this landlords are opting to rent rooms to make maximum profits, instead of just renting an entire unit. And those who do rent the entire unit are increasing their rents because of how much other landlords are making by renting out rooms.

A lot of people in my area are aware that the reason why they're homeless, losing out on jobs, etc is indirectly because of these exchange students.

Nobody should have to live in a place where they fear for their life but immigration on an uncontrolled level will turn second and first world countries into thirds.

I agree that immigration at its optimal height might turn even developed countries to the wild west. This is why I actually blame the government of third world countries.
I think people needs to build what they actually want to enjoy and this is saddening that people are victims of the places they're from. Most people who enjoy the benefits of being from good countries wouldn't want to actually share what they have, for fear that it'll finish one day. This might just be what's happening in Canada like you talked about.

I think it's an accumulation of different things, Immigration being one of them. But since Covid hit we seen an increase in the housing the market thanks to things like inflation. That along with an increase of foreign exchange students coming over here is making it very difficult to find housing.

People who arrive invited, with passport and good reason/qualifications to make better life in any country are normally welcomed in.

Invasion of illegals arriving through the back door is a massive problem almost everywhere. One point to sleep on at night you know your people, country and are a citizen, making a future for oneself is a problem when man made law is imposed.

South Africa has never been the land of milk and honey we have lived under draconian rules for a very long time, first the NAT then ANC parties, perhaps now that is at a long stretch still, under GNU some level thinking may enter.

I don't know a lot about the history of South Africa, but I grew up having a lot of friends from SA who I connected with on Facebook. Some of them even wanted me to come to South Africa as well. So I had many friends.
It's true that some people have misused their opportunities and done terrible things, but majority of people or some people actually just want to leave their country to see a fairer place to establish themselves

Each country comes with unique problems, many move never satisfied in country of birth for variety of reasons.

Those who invade, or arrive to do wrong by those who reside in a country would do the same in their own homeland.

Worldwide movement with easy travel and technology has happened, it's in resolving problems amicably.

Hmmm.... At my age, I am ready to leave this country. Honestly, there's nothing left to say about this country, I have lost hope.
Anyone who's interested in leaving has my full support.

Yea man, it's truly unfair, just by the location in the world you are born in you're either lucky, or not. Living in Europe, I consider myself lucky and like most western countries like the UK we see many immigrants, but what I DON'T get, why so many misbehave.. I'm no racist at all but mostly young men go about raping and stealing, no wonder the people in these countries develop a dislike, which is not fair to the honest and fair immigrants.

Well it's true that some immigrants have terrible behaviors, but most if not many of them left their countries just to seek better lives for themselves.
Europe is a great place, unlike in Africa here.
