On September 22, 2024, China's Nebula-1 reusable booster rocket underwent a test that, although promising, did not end exactly as expected. During its vertical flight, the rocket reached a high altitude and appeared to be on its way to a similar controlled landing. To those of SpaceX, however, in the last seconds the landing maneuver did not go as planned and Nebula-1 collided with the ground and exploded.
During last Sunday's test, Nebula-1 took off with its three engines operating. When it reached its maximum altitude, which was not revealed, two engines were turned off, leaving only the central engine to control the descent. It was approaching the landing platform. But it was at that moment when the unexpected happened, according to Deep Blue Aerospace's post-flight analysis, the rocket's control system suffered a crucial failure during the landing maneuver, the engine shut down early, while Nebula-1 was still in flight. the air which caused his fall.
