October Suprise!

Good afternoon fellow garden lovers! it has been 9 day's since my last post, which I was more optimistic for what I have growing currently. You see I live in the Northern Hemisphere, and it the season of Fall is among us. Most of you who live in this region are wrapping up your harvests, or if not I imagine it is currently taking place, or will soon. @dynamicgreentk has cut down his plants, and at a perfect time. I am not sure of the weather he has coming his way, but I would bet frost is near. For those who live in the Southern Hemisphere, summer is coming up, and quite possibly it is now your Spring? For these folks planting seeds, and transplanting sprouts are taking place, looking ahead to a fun grow season. But for me I live on the Coast of California, in the Salinas Valley where growing is done year round. Yes a lot of farmers here pack up shop, and head to Yuma, Arizona part of the year. But there is something always growing here. So that is why I am still giving it a shot, and seeing what I can do. My garden is more of an experiment, and a teaching lesson for myself. Let's take a look at what I have going on.

Glass Gem Corn

First let me talk about what is finishing up. Something that you all know I have grown very fond about. The color of the Ears from this special variety of corn is just breathtaking. Hopefully we see a lot more of it next year, since I am sending out seeds to a few fellow Hivers. @trayan, and @roronoa46 I will drop off your package tomorrow. Anybody else want some of these these seeds, please hit me up!

The ones on the side are now just about finished, except 1 that I am hoping will give me an ear, or two. I have to say these are not big yielders, which makes them even more special.

But that verdict is still out on if they are low yielders, or I just did not grow them to their full potential. I am very excited to see how the others who grow them end up.

Lots of pink ones from the corns on the side of the property! When we got that one a few weeks ago I was amazed, since all of them have been multicolored, at it being the first one. But after picking more from the side it seems that they where just different Pheno typical expressions.

This is what @loryluvszombies ended up doing with them. Pretty cool right? I would love to hear in the comments on any ideas you may have:)

But what is this!??

There is some Glass Corn seedlings! Will they produce? Only one way to find out;)

Hot stuff!

This Habanero Pepper has also been here since the start of this garden! I wasn't even sure it was alive to tell you the truth. It was doing so crappy for the most part of the grow season. Now it is looking like exactly how it is supposed to! Just shows you that when you have issues in the garden, almost anything can eventually come back. Only question is do you want to waste your time, or space? In my case I had both

Did you call me Yellow?

The Yellow Watermelon are coming along great!

A few buds sites are forming. I will be happy with just one good one. Lets see what the fall Californian sun can do.

Remember the Pumpkins I found growing in the most random place? Well there are loving life now that I rescued them. Only question is are these actually Pumpkins? LOL I've been wrong before.

Chilacayote Squash

Yes this is the Melon I thought was Watermelon for most of the grow season. Actually it is one of the original ones. I cut one back, and left in the ground, and it regrew into what you see in the picture!

I was thinking it would not grow much, but I think it is bigger then anyone that was growing during the Summer!

8 feet, and 5.5 inches!

It too has some bud sites, and hopefully it starts putting it's energy into making me some more Melons!

Check out this

Here are all 3 of the Melons I am growing. Look at the differences of the leaves. Very impressive, especially the Yellow Pumpkin. Just to think that the Pumpkin Farm I went to the other day has 60 different varieties!

I fed the plants these today. First time I have used anything since transplanting with my homemade compost.

I have some more in the making. I have yet to setup the one Composter I recently got. I need to stop putting it off, and get it up ASAP. But I am going to keep this one to do a comparison between the 2. Should make for an interesting post. I also have been planting more Marigolds around the property, in hopes they become very abundant. That's all for now. Stay tuned for another update next week;)

Everything looks awesome man! I bet your wife loves you even more with providing the maze for those amazing maze vases! They look nice!

Great job growing a garden at work it is inspirational!

The mid to low 40 degree nights really speed up the plants finish. The October rains are here in 10 days also.

hey, that's cool news! :)
your wife made nice art...got me wondering ;)

there are always some interesting results, when being playful in the garden :)
losses or unpredictable happenings only make us grow... you know! ;)
every next season crops are not coming along as good as the years before...
and that's not only us... i hear it more often from experienced farmers too...
people tend to keep their gardens in open greenhouses or try to protect them somehow.

the global awareness about OUR soil and that we're soil too (Sadhguru)
is raising along all other eco~logical aspects...

i was an optimist, never understood what "realist" means...
but now i can say, looking at the chemtrails operations in the mornings...
that i try NOT TO believe that THEY're killing nature, animals and humans ON PURPOSE...
but facts continue to tell me the opposite... more and more :)
(especially the last 2 years!)
and the evidences couldn't be hidden... never.

so just after all these reflections my hope and spirit arises that humanity is waking up for real and ONLY through brotherhood, kindness and truth we will stay REAL and NATURAL with all LIFE!

ps. I'm missing my thriving garden :|
although i'm happy to see so many successful gardeners here in hive...
being blessed by Nature!

In the end there is NO THEY
Only US :) and what we did or we didn't...
May the Grace be upon us!

You know it is crazy how they never really let the land rest here. They just plant crop after crop and pump salts into the soil. I could understand if a person needs to eat, they cant really afford to lose time. But where I live it is corporate farms. They even throw away a lot of the produce in order not to flood the market!

does it mean i can eat from their scrap? :D
i hope they compost it at least :)
hungry for money THEY are :) and THEIR time is our slavery...
i mean Corps vs Crops :D

come on!

It looks like you're continuing to have some success with your gardening efforts.
If you plant different types of corn close to each other and they tassle at roughly the same time, they will cross-pollinate. You can get some interesting results that way...
