One of 2022's Highlights: Watched a BEN&BEN Concert Live!!🥺🤍
"Mahiwaga
Pipiliin ka
Sa araw-araw...
Mahiwaga
Ang nadarama
Sa'yo'y malinaw.."
One of the most listened songs of Ben&Ben last year, those were its lyrics. The English translation of the above Tagalog lyrics would be:
"Magic
I will choose you
Everyday
Magic(al)
What I feel for you
It's clear"
The lyrics of their songs, its melody, the delivery of how these songs are sung, all the musical instruments of the band coming together perfectly - I can name a hundred more reasons why the band Ben&Ben continue to win hearts of millions of Filipinos, not just nationwide, but more so, globally.
I fell in love with Ben&Ben's songs way back in 2020 at the onset of the lockdowns. My niece KC who's with me in the photos of this blog post, is actually the one who recommended that I listen to their songs. I am not a big fanatic of the Twitter world thus I have no update of the recent music and pop culture, in general, so I had no idea that Ben&Ben was gaining popularity during that time.
Long story short, from listening to a couple of their songs in 2020 that translated to following their socials (YT, IG and FB) to being updated to their new songs to watching YouTube Live when they release songs for the first time. I was basically hooked. To say that I love their songs is an understatement.
There is something about how each song is rooted in meaning and purpose that has made me fall in love with their music. They don't just come up with nonsensical lyrics and woo us with its catchy tune, if you know what I'm saying. (Which is kind of the trend of "popular songs* these days - so long as the tune is quite catchy it does not matter if the lyrics are poorly chosen.)
Here is a quick fun fact for you, Hive friend, in case you have no idea who they are:
Ben&Ben are a folk pop band in the Philippines. The band was formed in 2015, and have since been known for their popular hits that include "Pagtingin" and "Lifetime", among others. They have won several awards, including multiple Awit Awards, Myx Awards, and Wish Awards. Their debut studio album Limasawa Street was certified 4× platinum in the Philippines by PARI after earning 60,000 copy sales.
That is brought to you by our friend Google in partnership of Wikipedia. 😁

Going back, the entire two hour-ish concert last year June was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. KC and I both sing with the band and we sure did sang our hearts out (that we even had our voice hoarse the following day). And oh the audience!!! Nothing like fellow fanatics and our collective energy that surely made it one epic unforgettable night!🤍🥺
My niece and I are looking forward to Ben&Ben's next visit in Cebu - hopefully this year!!!!🤞
