i wrote a poem + new journal (and spreads) | #metime 🦋
_today is a gift.
celebrate._
joke(r)
life
sometimes plays a
joke, at least once, if she
can help it. unlucky for
me, the joke was
you. you
came into the picture
dressed in half-truths
that for me
was a beacon of
light. the word 'perfect' hang
around you like a placard. i
laughed at your every
joke and cried
buckets when your saddest
stories were on
repeat. i held you when
fragments of you floated
in midair - never
was a moment i did not
choose you. and when it was
me who needed saving i
traced my steps
back to
you and found no one. no
echoes of laughs, no
silent tears, no
nothin'. empty. not
even a shadow who cares. but
the joke was on me who was
stupid enough to believe
you and this tell-tale show of a
l i f e.
Above is a poem I wrote recently. It's random - I was about to sleep but my mind kept racing and so I picked up my phone and wrote in the notes these words. I cannot say what inspired what I wrote because it just "weirdly" came to me that hour. I wrote the poem in my new journal to have this piece written on paper and not just on my phone.
The new journal (VERY CUTE + AESTHEHIC) I got is from Papers and Tschai. 💎 I love that the pages are blank, no lines, no other stuff on the pages etcetera. It is very ideal for making journal spreads which is why I bought it even when it was way too pricy for a notebook lol. Another things I love about this journal is that it's handcrafted and made with love. It's nice when you get to #SupportLocal business owners, too. (You can check out their Instagram and Facebook pages if you want to order some journals and craft & stationery items!).
today is a gift. celebrate. 🎈 This spread was light and fun (and pastel!!) and a good reminder to be aware that life does not owe us anything - the Universe does not owe us anything. All we get to have and enjoy are merely gifts and blessings thus each day should be celebrated because we never know when our last day on Earth would be. 🎈
I look forward to more #metime moments to journal and create my own "art". With all the hectic schedule recently - work, business, events, errands - I am lucky to get a quiet sit-down at a café to do my journaling at least once or twice a month.
There's that, dear Hive friend. I wish you well and I hope you get to celebrate today ~ just because. Enjoy the rest of the week, mwaaa! 🦋
