It is no secret that I LOVE drinking milk teas! I guess majority of the millenials + gen Zers here in the Philippines, or at least in Cebu, have gone to a liking to milk teas, too. I have observed that recently there have been lots of milk tea stores popping out all around Cebu.

Personally I think that these little milk tea stores have started to pop since the 2020 lockdowns. This was when the milk tea industry had a "strong game" and they had strong presence in social media such that even memes have been about milk teas for a time haha.

Nowadays I could say that here in Cebu City anywhere you go there's a local (and some not) small milk tea store, some are more pricy than the others since these stores really brew tea whilst the others which are cheaper use powdered teas. I like the ones which they actually brew tea than the ones which use powdered ones.

One of my favourite milk tea stores is unfortunately not a local store - Macao Imperial Milk Tea. (My other favourite which is a LOCAL store is The Teacup~!) I could still remember the first time I had their best-selling cheesecake milk tea last 2018 when my sister Joyce decided to treat me out, just because. Since then, I always order their cheesecake whenever I happen to be in their store. I cannot explain - I love how creamy, salty, sweet, bitter the entire thing tasted. Good stuff.

These pictures posted here were taken 2019 when I was still teaching and a lot of my students were asking me about their research paper. One of my teacher friends took these photos because she found it funny that we were supposed to be on a semestral break and enjoying our time drinking teas and I was there, busy with my phone answering my students' queries. I was guilty about it when my co-teacher called me out, and so I stopped scrolling through my phone and enjoyed our conversations.

I think with some demand milk tea stores pop up in Cebu. I personally never taste cheesecake milk tea. But I believe it has nice aroma and flavor.

Indeed that's correct - the demand is high around here.
Yes! Macao's cheesecake milk tea smells good and tastes even better - at least for me. :)

I haven't tried Macao. Do you know if they offer water-base instead of tea? I hate tea with milk huhu
