Art District Day Tour! (Part One)
Hello hivers! Today, I'll show you around Bacolod's Art District! As the place is a bit huge with SO MANY artworks and masterpieces spilled literally everywhere you take a look, this blog post is divided into two. Are you ready for a virtual day tour around this artsy part of town?!
Let's go! 💃
Hey all - welcome to the Art District. 😎
A closer photo at the signage. Pretty cool, if you ask me.
Art District | Bacolod, PH You get to have unlimited access to all these art pieces without any Entrance Fee whatsoever - this may be one of the great parts of this place yet!
Artists from all over Bacolod has gathered in order to showcase their masterpieces in this part of the city!
This part is by the entrance.
As soon as you arrive in the place, this is what the Entrance looks like.
The painting of this big fish caught me'eyes.
Almost every nook and canny there's art waving at you.
As you walk forward from the Entrance, you'll be greeted by this street-art artwork. At first, you'll think that the yellow-black-blue art (right side of the photo) is random but as you take a second look - lo and behold, these are actually people! Amazin', huh? The left side painting creeps me out because the bald-headed seem like aliens with super stretched out mouths, surrounding a female version of the Black Death symbol.
The background is creepy, alright. But I want to have a photo with this savage looking vintage car haha.
"That" IS the car - right there!
All the vibe with the Airconditioning units haha
A photo from another perspective.
I love how the morning sun has made the place look "warm" and welcoming.
This is the playground part of the District. Or is it...? In the swing and on the floor are statues of children made by artists. And can you see the literal "eye balls" on the ground, too? 👀
I used are more sunshiny preset for this picture.
The child is enjoying her swing.
I do not know how to explain but I love this wall art. The females, the sea waves, the wind, the birds, the blue colour palette - it seems to me like it's from a Philippine mythology book. I like the part of how this art makes me feel - strength in womanhood, being independent.
I am in love with how cute this wall is!
Another angle to how we can take a look at this artwork.
A close-up look at the "Fun at the Carnival" wall art! It's not the official name but I thought I can name it that, don't you agree?
A photo is a must, ofc!
Happy to be here - yes, yes!
The happy creatures are smiling at you!
Let's take a moment to flex the wall.
This is a powerful piece.
It's a ramble - but you ought to get the gist of this artwork.
The pink kitty versus the green one - and the referee at the center. Who's gonna win the match?!
I don't know about you but for me, this kind of looks like a super cool red mail box.
This restaurant has that "not-in-the-Philippines" vibe, I reckon. Look at the design and the exteriors.
A close-up look at the restaurant - I DIG THE VIBE, don't you?
This winged colourful monkey is the guardian of the afterlife, as it is above Mexico's Angel of Death statue.
If you have watched the 'famous' movie "Coco" you'll notice that this statue may have come straight from that movie. Look at the details of this "Angel of Death" - colourful and patterns are all over the entire artwork. The owl on one hand and the heart on the other must have a signicance in the Mexican culture.
This creature is half cat-half fish. I highly think this is part of the Mexican folklore.
This beast has horns and it looks like it's ready to attack.
Take this alley to go to the other side of the Art District.
This little corner has got some unique 'aura' in it - the wiggly lines, metal flowers, the stars, the paint, the swing - I guess it's surprisingly coming together.
This room's way, way transparent.
Welcome to OPENSPACE! This nook of the Art District is sketchy. Love the bits and pieces - the lines, drawings, colours.
The paint/drawing of a female with hair like the sea waves has caught my eye.
Walking past their "Safe House" or simply their theatre house - the design looks as though it's a vintage place.
Smilin' it out.

Panoramic view part 2
And that my friends - dearest Hivers - the virtual tour of the half part of this awesome Art District here at Bacolod! *swirling emoji here 💃
This is me thinking where to go with these new wheels - the Love Truck, apparently - and what to eat for lunch, of course. That involves a LOT of thinking, for sure. Haha.
Please watch out for the Part 2 of this series - MOREEEE art-filled works comin' right up!
BRB. Soaking in all the art I could soak whilst I'm here.
The place is awesome, right?! One where the imaginations of all the talented Filipino artists has came true. I was thrilled to visit there - and I will do so again when I get to visit Bacolod. There's still so much more to see in this place by the way so stay tuned for the second part of this blogpost!
‘Til the next post, hivers! Remember that you are loved beyond borders and beyond time & space. Okay? Okay. 💛❤️
