A beautiful jewel that we must take care of [ENG][ESP]

Greetings to all, in this opportunity I want to share with you a publication based on one of the most beautiful jewels that exist in the universe.

On planet earth there are many jewels or gems, to be honest I do not know many, among the most desirable are the ruby, diamond, pearl, gold, silver, jasper, sapphire and many others, each of them can be found in different parts of the planet, either in the water, either on land, in exotic places, in caves, in mines. In short, many people have even lost their lives, or have given their resources to get some of these precious stones and throughout history there are many stories and historical characters that show us, even during the period before the conquest by European countries in both the Americas and Africa, on the other hand in Africa ivory is highly coveted and unfortunately elephants have been victims of ambition and greed of human beings, reflecting the damage that both animals and humans themselves have suffered.

En el planeta tierra existen muchas joyas o gemas, para ser sinceros no conozco muchas, entre las más deseables están el rubí, el diamante, las perla, el oro, la plata, el jaspe, el zafiro y muchas otras, cada una de ellas las podemos encontrar en distintas partes del planeta, sea en el agua, sea en la tierra, en lugares exóticos, en cuevas, en minas. En fin muchas personas hasta han perdido sus vidas, o han entregado sus recursos para conseguir alguna de estas piedras preciosas y es que a lo largo de la historia existen muchos relatos y personajes históricos que nos demuestran, incluso durante el periodo antes de la conquista por parte de los países europeos tanto en el continente Americano como Africano, por otra parte en Africa el marfil es muy codiciado y lamentablemente los elefantes han sido víctima de la ambición y de la codicia del ser humano, lo que refleja el daño que tanto animales como los mismos humanos hemos sufrido.

Although there are many jewels, gems, or precious materials for which some would be willing to invest millions and millions of dollars, to put a coin, but there is a priceless jewel that we must all care for and appreciate, what I mean?

Aunque existen muchas joyas, gemas, o materiales preciosos por las cuales algunos estarían dispuestos a invertir millones y millones de dólares, por poner un una moneda, pero hay una joya de incalculable valor que todos debemos cuidar y apreciar, ¿A qué me refiero?

Hablando de una misión en el Apolo 14, en el año 1971, Charles Bolden, jefe de la NASA, recordó la estupefacción de Mitchell al ver la Tierra desde el espacio, en el homenaje que le brindó la agencia: “Edgar habló de forma poética sobre la vista de nuestro planeta desde la Luna de esta manera: ‘De repente, por detrás de la Luna, en movimientos en cámara lenta de inmenso esplendor, emergió una joya centelleante azul y blanca, una luz, una delicada esfera azul con velos blancos en espiral, que se elevaba gradualmente como una pequeña perla en un mar negro de misterio’ ”.*

So we are making reference to the beautiful blue and white jewel, our home: the earth and precisely that jewel is the one we human beings must take care of, there is no other and it is something we must reflect on, besides it is the legacy of our children or the generations that are on their way, unfortunately also in history we have seen due to greed and ambition, some human beings have not given the value to our planet.

How many trees have been cut down, how many animal species and how many flora, too, have been wiped out by some people's decisions? But since we do not want to stay in the past and focus our gaze on the future, what can we do?

Something that strikes me very much in the case of those who collect jewelry, is the care with which they keep them, sometimes even placing them in vaults. It is evident that we cannot lock up our planet, but if we can have that meticulous care, perhaps by saving energy, when discarding what we consider as useless, why not think of giving it another use? hence there have been many works or recycling campaigns.

Así que estamos haciendo referencia a la hermosa joya azul y blanca, nuestro hogar: la tierra y precisamente esa joya es la que debemos cuidar los seres humanos, no existe otro y es algo en lo que debemos reflexionar, además es el legado de nuestros hijos o de las generaciones que vienen en camino, lamentablemente también en la historia hemos visto debido a la codicia y la ambición, algunos seres humanos no le han dado el valor a nuestro planeta.

¿Cuántos árboles se han talado, cuántas especies animales y cuántas flora, también ha sido acabada por las decisiones algunos? Pero como no queremos quedarnos en el pasado y centrar nuestra mirada hacia el futuro, ¿Qué podemos hacer?

Algo que me llama mucho la atención en el caso de los que coleccionan joyas, es el cuidado con qué las mantienen, incluso a veces las colocan hasta en bóvedas. Es evidente que a nuestro planeta no podemos encerrarlo, pero si podemos tener ese cuidado minucioso, tal vez al ahorrar energía, a la hora de desechar lo que consideramos como inservible, ¿por qué no pensar darle otro uso? de ahí que ha habido muchas obras o campañas de reciclaje.

There are countries where this is a norm or a rule, and the state government has placed the necessary implements so that the community itself can do this work. Unfortunately in most countries this is not the case, but I can contribute from my home by separating the materials or if I can give a second use to what we are considering waste, so that it has a personal benefit or for others.

Also when we visit a natural environment, be it a mountain, a beach, a forest, a jungle, a river, the sand dunes, a mountain range, in short, any natural monument we visit, do we take the necessary care to avoid throwing waste and polluting the environment?

Something that has helped me in the years that I have been married, is that when we go out with my wife for a walk we have always included in our planning, to take bags precisely to place the waste and avoid throwing them in nature, on the contrary many times we return home in a bag that we had taken, with the bag with the waste, someone might ask: But how can you think of returning with the garbage? it is precisely a way to contribute to prevent pollution to the environment, it is my planet and it is our home.

Let's think about that astronaut, would he change his perspective of the earth, considering it as a jewel in space? most probably yes.

Hay países donde eso es una norma o una regla, y el estado gobierno ha colocado los implementos necesarios para que la misma comunidad pueda hacer este trabajo. Lamentablemente en la mayoría de los países no es así, pero yo desde mi hogar, puedo contribuir separando los materiales o bien si se le puede dar un segundo uso a lo que estamos considerando desecho, para que tenga un beneficio sea personal o para otros.

También cuando visitamos un ambiente natural, sea una montaña, una playa, un bosque, una selva, un río, los médanos, una cordillera, en fin cualquier monumento natural que visitemos ¿tenemos el cuidado pertinente para evitar lanzar desechos y contaminar el ambiente?

Algo que me ha ayudado en los años que tengo de casado, es que al salir con mi esposa de paseo siempre hemos incluido en nuestra planificación, llevar bolsas precisamente para colocar los desperdicios y evitar lanzarlos en la naturaleza, al contrario muchas veces regresamos a casa en algún bolso que habíamos llevado, con la bolsa con los desperdicios, alguien pudiera preguntar: ¿Pero cómo se te ocurre regresar con la basura? es que precisamente es una manera de contribuir para evitar la contaminación al medio ambiente, es mi planeta y es nuestro hogar.

Pensemos en ese astronauta, ¿cambiaria su perspectiva de la tierra, al considerarla una joya en el espacio? lo mas probable es que sí

How many times have we not gone to a beach or a mountain?, I remember as a child, in the city of Caracas, I remember climbing the Avila which is one of the tourist attractions of the capital city of Venezuela, to climb the mountain you can do it in a vehicle, climbing or walking along the paved paths; in the most exciting and enjoyable opportunities was climbing, there is greater contact with nature and adrenaline flows.

Unfortunately many of those climbs, I found many times with waste plastic bottles, bags of sweets, even garbage bags full of garbage, people who carry their food to enjoy with family and friends, but left it lying on the trails or on the slopes, as if someone was going to happen later to clean it and maybe someone would do it, but it is not really the duty.

Because just as in our house, although perhaps we may expect our wife, a relative, our children or ourselves to do it, we can collaborate with the cleaning, as they say in some homes: "each one washes his own plate", in the natural monuments there should not be this type of difficulty, in the same way when we visit one, we also do what is necessary to clean what we have dirtied.

Cuántas veces no hemos ido a una playa o a una montaña..., recuerdo cuando era niño, en la ciudad de Caracas, recuerdo haber subido al Avila que es uno de los atractivos turísticos de la capital de Venezuela, para subir a la montaña se puede hacer en vehículo, escalando o caminando por los senderos pavimentados; en las oportunidades más emocionantes y agradables era escalar, hay mayor contacto con la naturaleza y la adrenalina fluye.

Lamentablemente en muchas de esas subidas, me encontré muchas veces con desperdicios de botellas de plástico, bolsas de chucherias, incluso bolsas de basura llenas de desperdicios, gente que lleva su comida para disfrutarla con la familia y amigos, pero la dejan tirada en los senderos o en las laderas, como si alguien fuera a pasar luego a limpiarla y tal vez alguien lo haría, pero no es realmente el deber.

Porque al igual que en nuestra casa, aunque quizás esperemos que lo haga nuestra esposa, un familiar, nuestros hijos o nosotros mismos, podemos colaborar con la limpieza, como dicen en algunas casas: "cada uno lava su plato", en los monumentos naturales no debe haber este tipo de dificultad, de la misma manera cuando visitamos uno, también hacemos lo necesario para limpiar lo que hemos ensuciado.

If we can contribute, how much value am I giving to the renewable and non-renewable natural resources? How much time do I dedicate to observe the wonderful creation we have around us? and if we observe something that is deteriorating, what do we do?

The lack of awareness of us human beings and I include myself because I can not say that I have not ever done it, I am sure I have done it and it is something that I put for reflection, because now that I have a son I would expect that I also teach him, what it is to take care of his planet, his home, that precious blue and white jewel that is in space, when we see it like that, we will be more willing to take care of it.

So let us continue to value our home, our planet Earth, which was carefully designed, each thing in its place, where each ecosystem and each cycle that is fulfilled within the planet contribute to its proper functioning, just as our body has a design and each member fulfills a function, likewise each structure of the earth also fulfills a function, if we damage one or contribute to its damage, then we are hurting ourselves. Because when forests are cut down indiscriminately to build new cities, shopping malls and so on, we are subtracting part of the natural lung of the planet, we breathe the oxygen produced by those forests.

So let's take care of the earth according to our circumstances and we will leave a legacy for new generations, but the most beautiful and the most we can have is a clear conscience, because we have taken care of our home, so let's not neglect it, let's treasure this beautiful blue and white jewel.

Si podemos contribuir, por eso ¿Cuánto valor le estoy dando los recursos naturales renovables y no renovables? ¿Cuánto tiempo dedico a observar la maravillosa creación que tenemos a nuestro alrededor? y ¿si observamos algo que está en deterioro que hacemos?

La falta de conciencia de nosotros los seres humanos y me incluyo porque no puedo decir que alguna vez no lo he hecho, estoy seguro de que si lo he hecho y es algo que pongo para la reflexión, porque ahora que tengo un hijo se esperaría que yo también le enseñe, lo que es cuidar su planeta, su hogar, esa joya preciosa azul y blanca que hay en el espacio, cuando la vemos así, estaremos más dispuestos a cuidarla.

Por eso sigamos valorando nuestro hogar, nuestro planeta Tierra, que fue diseñado de manera cuidadosa, cada cosa en su lugar, dónde cada ecosistema y cada ciclo que se cumple dentro del planeta contribuyen a su buen funcionamiento, así como nuestro cuerpo tiene un diseño y cada miembro cumple una función, de igual manera cada estructura de la tierra también cumple una función, sí dañamos una o contribuimos a su daño, entonces nos estamos haciendo daño a nosotros mismos. Porque cuando se talan los bosques de manera indiscriminada para hacer nuevas ciudades, centros comerciales y pare usted de contar, le estamos restando parte del pulmón natural al planeta, respiramos el oxígeno que producen esos bosques.

Entonces cuidemos según nuestras circunstancia a la tierra y dejaremos un legado para nuevas generaciones, pero la más hermoso y lo más qué podemos tener es una conciencia tranquila, por que hemos cuidado nuestro hogar, así que no lo descuidemos, atesoremos esa hermosa joya azul y blanca.
