The universe is expanding, this is what scientists are telling us. So yes, it's no surprise that we discover new things but recent research suggests that our Milky Way galaxy is part of an even larger structure than we thought.

This means we don't know as much as we thought we knew about the Milky Way.

Scientists found evidence of a "basin of attraction" that involves many galaxies including our own galaxy. This discovery can totally change how we already understand our universe. For me I'm humble enough to know that whatever I learned no matter how factual it seems could be wrong so yes, if our understanding of the universe based on this new findings change, I'll be more than happy to change my world view immediately.

I remember looking up at the night sky as a child and I have formed a habit of doing that at least every Saturday night. Whenever I looked up, I felt small, almost insignificant but very curious. I wondered how we fit into the vastness and endlessness of space. Now, knowing that our galaxy is part of a much larger system is making me rethink our place in the universe.

How insignificant are we really? Earth is one of the tiniest planets in are little solar system and look at our sizes as human beings compared to this already tiny planet. Are we as special as we think we are. Maybe yes maybe no, but as we keep going with research, we'll eventually find out.

The study I'm talking about also shows that galaxies move along paths just like how water flows in a river. This flow shapes how we view cosmic connections. So the question you'd ask is this; is our current models of the universe really accurate?

If we're wrong about the calculations then we could be wrong about predictions of what could happen in the future of our universe
Cosmic structures may grow larger than we predicted, and that'll seriously challenge our understanding and could even lead to wrong decisions that we thought could protect us against possible destruction like maybe an asteroid belt headed for earth.

I think what we need is more observations to confirm these findings. Anyways don't be alarmed, scientists might just discover the facts before any pending trouble arrives.

I know some will ask what is basin of attraction so here's a video to summarize it all
