The Opening Africa Needs

avatar

Over the years Africa has found itself lagging in various aspects of advancement anyone can think of, including economically, healthcare infrastructure, and developments with unending lists of stagnancy.

A problem faced by the continent that sees its youth leave the shores of the continent in search of greener pastures, yet the same continent is rich in abundance.

When a discussion over Africa's problems arises we are quick to blame the western world for our lack of progress, refusing to admit the problem lies within us.

Hope for Africa is something I don't enjoy toying with, the continent is so behind my hope for the continent is so thin. Fortunately, for those of us involved in cryptocurrency, we have reason to be hopeful for a better future for Africa provided we utilize the opportunities cryptocurrency offers.

A Receptive Africa For Crypto Opportunities

With the US suddenly ramping up its hostility towards cryptocurrency, the outcome of that is expected to be crypto firms seeking elsewhere for business where they are welcome without unreasonable regulations that are bent on stifling the smooth run of the crypto business.

Gray Minimal How To Enhance Your Portfolio Blog Banner.png

I listened to WendyO's talk about the RESTRICT Act recently and she mentioned people could get in trouble for owning a ring light. That is going extreme in people's life and it is completely unacceptable.

Imagine being arrested for a ring light, and by the way, I bought a ring light recently to enhance my video production, perhaps I should be on the lookout should Africa follow suit on these crazy laws.

For Africa's benefit, it needs to be receptive to cryptocurrency and blockchain innovations, the space does call for regulation but a regulation that is put in place by experts on the matter.

And when it comes to the right person for the right department, Africa fails tremendously in that regard so expecting a crypto regulation to be drafted by a team with the knowledge might be asking too much.

Anti-Crypto In Africa

We can't rule out the possibility of Africa following suit on the US's Anti-crypto stance to adopting some of its regulations. I hope that doesn't happen for Africa's sake.

Africa is a continent with ineffective systems in place so crypto clamp down on a magnitude like the US is bound to fail in Africa unless the proper infrastructures are in place to monitor who is using a crypto wallet or a VPN.

Nigeria placed restrictions on cryptocurrency transactions yet the country tops as the most crypto adoption in Africa. Perhaps the ineffective systems in Africa will play to crypto's advantage as Africa's adoption rate rises.

Africa's Opening

Africans have been governed by leaders whose goals are to embezzle as much as they can with little or no development for their nations. Hope is lost in the voting system as corruption prevails.

It is everyone for themselves with graduates roaming the streets of the continent in search of jobs. Through cryptocurrency and blockchain, youths are becoming entrepreneur-minded and building sources of livelihood for themselves while saving local currencies in stablecoins or cryptocurrencies of better-performing value.

Anyone can tap into decentralized blockchains to take advantage of what it has to offer, never has such an opportunity been available to the ordinary person, with crypto being a little over a decade old it is becoming evident by the day cryptocurrency is here to stay and Africa needs to place itself at the core of it.

Good place to start building the continent with all the natural wealth it has is to stop politicians selling the countries off to highest bidder, knuckle down and do some work.

Since 2015 Africa has been bounced around as being the best continent to introduce crypto currencies into due to Fiat being almost non-existent. In particular Zimbabwe back then, add more countries now, still waiting...

You get to wonder who in their right frame of mind will sell their country, sadly it is the reality with our leaders.
Cryptocurrency allows us to get innovative without them, the least they can do is not come up blindly with regulations that will hurt the continent more. As for Zim, I wonder why they aren't up there in the rankings with crypto adoption.

The more we share, learn and open our eyes and mind to opportunities are to be taken when no one else is being hurt. Older you get, with a good memory many things happening that are dirty!

Absolutely true, more reason I enjoy and appreciate those links you share on and off Hive, keep them coming 😃
I suppose we get smarter with age but I've seen some that got a lot more foolish as well.

Taking wealth off this continent has been happening forever, this is more Mafia style!

When wealth was removed from SA at least infrastructure was put in along with medical, education and other necessities.

I had to pause what I needed to do to watch to the end it was scary watching what goes on behind the scenes as few benefit off wealth that is meant to serve a nation.

I hope people are having equality on crypto and other good things. It will be shamed that there might be a potential that is caged by regulation

The worse that can happen to anyone or state is to prevent an opportunity to shine to its full potential, that is what we are witnessing with crypto, I hope some nations wisen up over this subject.

I completely agree that embracing crypto and blockchain technology could be a game-changer for Africa's development. Proper regulations and decentralized opportunities have the potential to empower the youth, create jobs, and bring economic growth.

Africa should seize this chance and position itself at the forefront of the crypto revolution.

You had it well summarized that Africa's youths have a great opportunity to alleviate the hardship currently faced on the continent.
If crypto is embraced and rationally regulated, Africa can gain in various aspects that can impact lives positively.

Many thanks for stopping by I will have a look at the MCGI community, great to see communities expanding on Hive.

I think Africa has a grand opportunity of being the ground where crypto is built and flourishes. Without the filter from the western world, it is able to actually absolve this technology and utilise it to solve many of the problems it is facing. Nigeria is a great example of the futility of trying to ban it, it just backfires because no one listen to the person who never walks the talk.

Trying to ban crypto in Africa is almost guaranteed to fail due to the lack of a proper system to track those not adhering to the rule, funny how the situation is in favor of crypto.
The opportunities crypto offers calls for being hopeful for the continent.

Indeed! It's like crypto and Africa's nature are aligned lol. They're mostly unregulated and don't adhere to the traditional rules. Hope is needed, it's never too late for things to turn around for the better.

I would not be surprised to see other countries follow once a country has set the precedent. It kind of gives them a cover when they enact those rules and the politicians will do what they can to maintain their control.

It is most likely other countries will follow suit and Africa where our leaders fail to think for what is best for their country, and since politics is always involved they are bound to copy what the west does.
