The Impact On Crypto Projects Should Twitter Cease To Exist
When cryptocurrency is the subject Twitter has proven to be the place to be. The mentors, the noobs as well as those out to shill their crypto project all converge on Twitter to consume and create crypto-related content.
Therefore it is safe to safe Twitter's role in crypto is impactful depending on how it is utilized for desired results.
Should Twitter cease to exist tomorrow, what are the impacts it will have on crypto projects? This was a question from a recent tweet as seen below worth looking into.
tbh an interesting question for any crypto project to ask itself is what would happen to it if Twitter went away tomorrow
Source
Twitter to some is like what Hive is to me, should Hive cease to exist tomorrow, I can't imagine what life will be like for me. Hive has become home to me, a digital home where I have built global relationships over the years and a source of income that has been impacting lives positively.
And so is Twitter to some, life without Twitter is going to hit hard on those that rely on it.
Mentors utilize Twitter to market the services, Twitter is home to crypto noobs seeking how to get on board crypto and the consequence of that is either getting involved in the right project(s) or the ones that will leave them rekt in due time.
Shilling Of Crypto Projects
With crypto being the subject, Twitter is the place to shill crypto projects.
Most crypto projects are talked about on Twitter, Bitcoin, and Ethereum and the ones unheard of all have their place of shilling on Twitter.
Hive utilizes Twitter as well. There used to be a HiveChat which I participated in several times, I don't know if it is still a thing on Twitter but the idea is to give Hive exposure through Twitter.
And some of us share our posts on Twitter with the hope of exposing Hive to the masses out there.
Therefore crypto projects make use of Twitter to give their projects exposure in one way or the other.
Should Twitter Cease To Exist
Twitter houses crypto-related topics amongst others. And should it cease to exist it will have an impact on the crypto community to some extent, some projects that are heavily reliant on Twitter will suddenly have to seek other means of promoting their projects.
As for Hive, it will be business as usual, a unique aspect of Hive is that it is a social platform, home to not only crypto-related topics but any form of topic one wishes to talk about, Hive is a suitable host.
Hive's existence and growth to date have been organic without any marketing team behind it. It has relied on the community to share Hive with friends and family.
So without Twitter's existence, Hive will continue to thrive and grow. Some of us like myself are only on Twitter because we share our posts on Twitter, other than that, Twitter serves no purpose for some of us.
We owe it to ourselves to make Hive great

I look forward to when Crypto project owners will begin to look to hive as the immutable platform to host their projects content rather than on Twitter where their contents can be deleted.

Hopefully, that day shall come as they will be exposing their projects to crypto enthusiasts directly compared to the various Twitter audience.

Through other channels, the community will converge to another platform.
The biggest impact is market to non-crypto folks, that is yet to be seen. Platform dependent - there are many Twitter-like alternatives too.
The likes of YouTube and Facebook will be there to host them provided they comply with what to and not to post they should be fine.
As for Facebook, I have grown to enjoy my private life I wouldn't be spending a minute there shilling Hive unless with an anonymous account.

There are also Truth Social, GETTR, Parlor, Telegram, Signal, and bunch others.
I use Signal and Telegram, I kind of like Signal but no one I know is keen on using it. Truth Social, GETTR, and Parlor are new to me, might check them out.

That would probably great a huge dent on the social media space. Twitter is a place that many people converge to share ideas and interact with like minded individuals.
But there are currently many alternatives now that can replace Twitter if it happens to be no more.
No doubt the dent will be a huge one should that happen and the reaction will be to find an alternative platform to share crypto-related content.
However, the dent on Hive will be almost none.

Yes, for many hivers, Twitter is just an alternative. Nothing major if it goes away tomorrow. It could actually be an opportunity to bring more people to Hive.
I think so too, an opportunity for LeoThreads for microblogging and those that are up for long-form content as well.

I can't imagine a world without Twitter, many people in crypto and all spheres of life are addicts. I know many Kenyan politicians/entertainers who wouldn't survive without twitter. But just like you, I would care less if twitter went down and am sure Hive would survive and thrive without it.
Thank you for sharing, do enjoy Friday and the upcoming weekend :}
I wouldn't care if Twitter disappeared but I don't know if I can imagine Hive not being there. Twitter just seems bad for mental health even if it's good as a advertisement and social platform.
