Seals 🦭 of Kaikoura coastline 🇳🇿

After my first stop for photos on State Highway 1, Kaikoura, my next stop led me to encounter seals 🦭 for the first time.

I have never seen seals 🦭 before, so this was a new experience for me, I find them to be calm, beautiful sea 🌊 animals.

Even though I still had lots of driving to rich Christchurch, I was reluctant to get going. I took lots of photos 📸 and videos 📹 and still wasn't content with time spent watching these cute animals that I was encountering for the first time.

Oh, you got very close by. They are indeed cute and seemed calm. Wonderful creatures! These are sea lions as far as I can see. They have a shorter fur coat than the seals.
Love seeing them play amongst the rocks.

Aha… i just saw the edge you could stand at to view them.
You are welcome. There are 3 that look alike. The walrus, sea lion and seal. The walrus is easy to identify. The seal and seal lion is very similar and have only a few differences.
So cute indeed. I could watch them a long time.

I have checked on Google for all thelree you mentioned. Walrus is quite easy tell. Seals 🦭 and sea lions are difficult to tell.

Interesting I never knew about these three similar looking animals until now.
