Bird Feeding: Do You Enjoy It?
Someone asked if I have a pet and would like to have on #threads yesterday, I responded I don't have one but will like to have a bird(s) as a pet.
Growing up I had a Spilopelia bird as a pet and what I enjoyed most was feeding it. I guess it was a teenagehood memory that I will like to relive since I keep wishing to own a bird. Do you have a bird feeder or enjoying them in the park?
So I was going through the photos on my phone and discovered photos from South Africa that I haven't shared. These photos are from my SA mom's garden.
The bird feeder is nicely hunged onto the tree branch. This was a garden where I worked in South Africa when I newly arrived and had no job, very beautiful people to the heart, German origin that moved to South Africa years ago.
I ended up becoming friends with the family and the woman is more like a mother to me so I often call her my mom. I am going to miss her a lot next week on my birthday because she always bakes a cake for me on my birthday and brings it over to me.
She is going to call me and am going to ask for my cake 😃

Yes I did 😎 the back garden… up in Scotland.
I took the feeders but the garden I have now consist only out of grass… so no birds come to visit.
Maybe the next place.

I also would love to have a bird as a pet. I've not seen it traditionally as a bird pet, they're a bit wild in nature. It's the eagle. Really want to have one!

I am a big fan of the eagle, it is my favourite bird but too wild for a pet. A canary will do for me as a pet.

Feeder works well for birds on the highveld, down here not so much although I still put seeds out every day for the birds.
