Beach Comfort With Slippers In The Sand

With a bit of a break from the rain last week, I rushed off to the salon for my haircut, it was Friday and I have skipped my haircut the previous week so I was due for a haircut.

Perhaps like everyone else, they also headed to the salon quickly like me since it has been raining almost nonstop. So upon getting to the salon, there were two others waiting for a haircut.
The salon is less than 5 minutes walk from the beach, so I decided instead of waiting for my turn for a haircut, I chose to take a walk to the beach which I haven't been to in about a week.

Serene as usual I got playful, in the sand with my slippers. The big, old me dug a hole in the sand and had my slippers in it as seen in the photos.

You would notice they are beach slippers 😃, I specifically bought them before leaving South Africa since I was determined to find accommodation close to the beach, so far I am loving it and even contemplating having my house close to the beach in the future.

It is quite a comfortable slippers I get into whenever am headed for the beach.

It seems it is known more as flip flops than slippers, slippers could also be the bedroom ones, so it is not really wrong. 😉

I came not long ago and had supper already 😃
I was out for about an hour, it was very windy with a rough sea, I didn't enjoy the walk that much so I returned home half an hour before sunset.

It has been a good day for me, though I woke up with a pain in my shoulder, I must have slept on it. It is so damn painful.

Those are nice beach slops all the way from SA✨. It was the best decision to choose to stay in an area near the beach. The beach looks so quiet, and there is barely anyone in sight or did you just choose a less busy and quiet spot?

The beach is always quiet here, I was surprised to see a crowd during Easter celebrations, otherwise, there are always few people that come to the beach.
I just think it is because of how small the population is. 13 million people.

I told my cousin about my concern about how the beach is often and I tend to look behind me often because that's how am used to being outdoors alert in SA, he laughed at me saying am traumatized and should stop it, no one is going to attack me.

When I arrived and was accomodstion-hunting with my cousin's wife, the driver took us to a place and he didn't lock his car, neither did close the windows, I was about closing my window but he switched of the ignition.

I asked my cousin's wife why didn't we close the window, she responded we are only going a few blocks further so the car is fine.
I told myself such an attitude is going to leave you in tears in Joburg.

Basically am told the crime rate is low, and from my observations, it tends to be so.

You lived in Johannesburg for 15 years, and crime rate is high in many areas there. Infact Gauteng is rated the highest in crime compared to other 8 provinces.

It must be quite a shock to witness people feeling so safe that they even leave their cars unlocked and windows open. It's a great environment to be in!

I find it amazing and I tell my cousin I sometimes feel like a tourist. It is a completely different setting here they are so damn relaxed I can imagine working with them might piss me off because used to getting things done and move on to the next.
