Starfruit Vegetable Flowering Back In The Garden
On this occasion I will write about the world of gardens, namely regarding the Belimbing vegetable flowering again in the garden.
A few days ago I saw the condition of the cacao garden which is located not far from the house where I live, when I arrived at the garden, I saw a star fruit vegetable tree located in the corner of the cacao garden that I have, the star fruit tree is now blooming again and the flowers are very full. covering the stems, and there is also fruit that we can already pick or use to cook sour vegetables.
Vegetable star fruit is a type of fruit that is familiar to women because this one fruit is often used as a spice in cooking sour vegetables and other dishes, and if it is ripe or old, this vegetable star fruit is picked and dried in the hot sun and also salt is added as a preservative so that it lasts a long time, and when it is dry, the star fruit acid is stored for a long time and taken a little bit to make spices for dishes, especially side dishes or gravy dishes. and if you have a large amount of tamarind starfruit then the farmers or gardeners will sell it to collectors who buy natural products, usually where I live tamarind starfruit is sold at Rp.40000 per kilogram or the equivalent of $2.6 HBD. and this is a very promising price for those who have star fruit.
Vegetable starfruit has a long round fruit shape and the fruit is green and when it is ripe or old it will have a yellowish color.
For friends who have an empty garden, you can try to plant starfruit and it's not a hassle to care for, we only water it during the dry season, we just need to water it twice so it doesn't die. And when the rainy season comes, this starfruit tree will flower and age. 2 weeks after flowering, you can harvest and make vegetable star fruit acid.
In the following I will show some pictures of starfruit which has flowered and the star fruit in my garden.
This young star fruit is one of the spices in cooking sour vegetables and also fish dishes with a sour taste. This young starfruit is very fond of by mothers, not cooking vegetables without young starfruit.
The picture above is a star fruit that is still small and this small star fruit cannot be used and we have to wait a few more weeks, but we have to protect it from pests such as goats and cattle which really like young star fruit and its flowers.
The newly blooming starfruit flowers and black-purple starfruit flowers and the flowers grow in clusters on starfruit tree trunks. and this flower is what will become the fruit of the vegetable starfruit.
The stem of the starfruit tree is filled with flowers, as we know that starfruit flowers grow not on branches or tree shoots but the flowers will appear on the stems of the starfruit tree. and flowers appear simultaneously on the stem.
The picture above is a vegetable starfruit tree that is still in a polybag, and will later be planted in the garden that has been prepared by the gardener. Vegetable starfruit can be propagated by taking the ripe seeds and then sowing the seeds in a seedling container or in polybags that have been prepared beforehand.
Thus my discussion about Belimbing vegetables starting to flower and bear fruit in the garden, I hope my post is useful for all of us and thank you for the visit and support from all my friends.

This is not starfruit. This is Averrhoa bilimbi, commonly known as bilimbi. In my native place, it is very common and we use it very often. The star fruit/Averrhoa carambola is also common around my place.
